Is it allowed to YOUTUBE videos on website if their not yours?

Hello Warriors,

I was wondering if somebody could help me out with a question I have.

Is it allowed to use other people's youtube videos on my website?
What I wanted to do was write a post on a video I saw and put the video in that post.

Is there a copy right or usage rule to these kind of things?

They have embed code that allows you to put the videos on your site. That's what they want you to do.

What you can't do is take someone's video and start uploading it to a bunch of other video sites as if it were your own.

If a video owner doesn't want their video distributed they can turn off the embed code. If the embed code is there you can assume that they want their video distributed and you can put it on your site.

Only if you embed through the Youtube embed code. This way you do not infringe any copyrights.

Yes, you can add Youtube videos on your website... But it would be great if you give credit to the owner of the video. though, there are millions of people posting videos on their websites without permission, but why take chances. There is no harm in giving backlink as a gesture of gratitude...

For one as above posters have mentioned they can turn off the embedded sharing if they don't want the video to be shared. Giving their video is enough gratitude as it is, they should backlink to my site if anything for exposing their video to more viewers. There are no "chances", you can use the video with embed code on your sites... This get them more views and subscribers which make them money...

Sorry to sound harsh, but if you don't know, you shouldn't make assumptions

If someone doesn't want their video shared they can turn off the embed code. If they do want their video shared they should water mark the video or do some branding in the video so that when it does get posted on other sites it is essentially advertising their site.

Sharing is caring as long you don't claim the video as your own and do whatever you want with it, embedding on your site is okay as the owners get free traffic.

That is what the "embed" feature on the video is for.

No worries. It's actually encouraged. And it's one of my favorite way to show reviews of a product I'm promoting on a page.

If you can embed them, then yeah, of course you can... Youtube wouldn't allow it otherwise.

Why would music videos be different than any other type of content?

If you download the video and then start posting it as your own then you're stealing but as long as there is embed code available you are simply helping the video owner to distribute their content.

That's what the embed code is there for, they want people to put the videos on their sites.
