Backlink Count

Hello,
I checked backlink from Google Webmasters Links to Your site,
Siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com, domain-pop.com, backlinkcheck.com.
All gave different number. Some gave a number that is not even close.

How the backlink works? Which one is right? Which one is the most trustful considering Google search engine?

Any idea?

Hi there

In my experience there are NO backlink counters that are accurate, but yahoo site explorer is in my opinion the most accurate of the ones you have listed. By far the least accurate, which you have not listed is Google. I don't know why, but they just feel the need to falsify the amount of backlinks pointing to a site.

None of those were right. Besides, there is actually no point in link counting.

There is point counting link actually. It's one of the important factor. Quality is important. Quantity also important as well. One cannot exists without the other. I noticed it. so..

Quantity and quality of link has utterly nothing to do with link counting!

Use spy glass to count the links but I will also say that counting your links carry no importance. Rather than yours you should count your competitors backlinks to hit the right spots

As per my knowledge Yahoo site explorer is good one.

I haven't check the backlink count on my sites for ages, I pay no mind to it and neither should you.

Focus on rankings and traffic instead.

Why will you check you backlink count? Quality is more important than quantity. A website with 100 high quality backlinks can outrank website with 500 low quality backlinks.

Regarding to backlinks checking, there might be NO tools that can check the exact number of backlinks to your site.

They are all right!

Considering each site has nothing to do with each other.

Each site has it's own bots that crawl the web, don't expect each bot from multiple sources to crawl the same pages as all the other bots.
