I used to be a web designer, but haven't actually had a client in a long time. I prefer to make my own money online, less hassle, getting paid etc. Anyway, there's a business owner who wants me to rank his site for him on google for a couple of keywords. Some are pretty weak competition, some not so weak. His site was hard coded... I haven't touched dreamweaver in a long time.. with Wordpress, why would I need to ![]() Anyway, I've had a quick look at his site, and the on page SEO isn't great, no alt tags, external links to authority sites, use of h tags etc... Now, I'm sure I could tinker with this... but, would I be better off making a list of what needs to be done.... send it off to an outsourcer on easyoutsource, or odesk... and charge the client double the cost of this? I've used easyoutsourse, wasn't great, I spent a lot of time explaining stuff to the outsourcer... there's no reviews either. Is odesk the best route? Or, should I just get my hands dirty, and open up the hood and tinker with the site? How much should I charge for this service? I'm thinking, for the low competition keywords, $100 and the higher ones $300... I just pulled those numbers out of the air...so, please advice. Also, should I charge some monthly fee to maintain the site? |

If you don't have an outsourcer ready to go and trained up for this I would just do it myself and charge it out for the time it takes me. If it is going to be a regular service you offer I would definitely be training up an outsourcer and having him on standby for the next job, but your aim should be getting the job done accurately and quickly for the customer. As for ongoing monthly SEO charges, you said you prefer to make money online rather than the hassle of spending time working on someones site. I would be reselling a popular SEO service to them under your own name. That way you can keep the profits in exchange for providing a third party SEO solution to them, without bogging down your time. You could get a warrior to do the on page SEO, but you also need to do offpage SEO: articles, guest posts, forum posts, etc.

By the time you develop a plan, drive traffic via articles, social bookmarking, forum posting etc. $100 is not even going to begin to compensate you for your time and the expense outsourcing. Don't pull numbers out of "the air". Map out what your costs and time would be or you will end up getting next to nothing for a lot of effort.

| Probably posted in the wrong thread... - Ensure you get some low paying jobs under your belt to build up more experience and also pass the English test and keep trying.

I can get decent articles from textbroker. I can use fiverr to upload articles. I can use a warrior backlinking gig. This is all pretty easy... and should work out ok for the low to medium keywords.

You will need to develop a sound SEO strategy that is consistent and white-hat. The last this you want to do is create tension with your clients if the links or articles are substandard. If you create a low-quality link building solution with too many spammy links and link blasts you will probably create a lot more problems for yourself.

I outsource my SEO needs as well as other stuff to a group in the Philippines. They are pretty good and get things done on time. If you are interested, I can hook you up with them.

Make sure you do on page optimization first, then build your backlinks when it is complete. In my experience, if you don't it will be harder to rank. Good luck! |

You should outsource it to a gig here in Warrior Forum that helps rank your website well on Google. I strongly suggest that you should go with private blog network gigs, they're pretty effective.

Warrior Forum has a great place for outsourcing. Just go to Warrior For Hired section and you will find a lot of good service. But, please beware of fraud service. I ever got scammed $89 for fake service.
