Hello, I have done many backlinking last days for my new niche site. 1) forum profiles 2) article submission 3) blog comments 4) press releases Should I do some directory submissions aswell? (I read somewhere that they are a bit dangerous for new sites - might get sanboxed) and social bookmarks? NB: I really hate doing article submissions, since I do not have time to rewrite those articles and when I spin them, they get really akward and non-human. Any suggestions how to get them done a little bit easier? |

Best is when your linkbuilding looks natural. Meaning don't create hundreds of backlinks a day. If you'd submit to a few directories per day it's OK. Create a few free blogs (blogger.com, wordpres.com, etc.) and put up some backlinks there aswell. Make sure the content on these free blogs contains your keywords and make it relevant to the website you're linking to. Andre |

Agreed with the above. You should try to eb creating all types of links you can from all types of sources to create diversity in your profile. But, in a consistent sustainable manner so it looks natural. Also be sure to stick to manual activity and avoid any spam. Directory submission is essential for diversity. Look for high PR human edited directories and do not pay for entry. That way you can submit to alot of directories in a short time and they will all be approved and go live at different times reducing the "too many at once" risk Unfortunatly that is the deal with articles. You do the time or you get poor quality content. Try different things and balance your activity so that it works for you in terms of time and results |

Always try to get backlinks from those websites who have fast crawling rate and dofollow, relevant as well as quality. I always focus on texture backlinks preferably but if you have high PR directories with fast approval rates then i think its not bad idea.

omy123 I think you'll find that people are using PR releases and newsletters. Infact it is the 4th method that the OP states they are using. The question is about weather directories, social bookmarks, spinning and volume/time

I think natural backlinks increase everyday should be good for the new site. You can try to submit 10-15 directories everyday. and spin one article to submit to 5-10 article directories. If you do the more or less backlinks everyday,Your SERP will imrpove a lot.

Hi, You can: 1. Use an online tool, there are lots of them, to find niche and keyword-relevant expired and deleted domains with high PR. Check the backlink portfolios/profiles of the good expired and deleted domains you find by using SEO SpyGlass. Register those domains. Remember that Google can see domain registrant details, and they won't be happy when one person or company owns multiple sites with unique server IPs, all pointing to one website... Set up a Wordpress site for each of those domains. Develop relevant written and video content for at least five 350++-word static pages, three 400++-word article posts and two 300++-word blog posts for each of those Wordpress sites... Point your keyword-anchored backlinks on the homepages, other static pages, article posts and blog posts of those new Wordpress sites to the homepage and other relevant internal pages of your main website. Also point relevant keyword-anchored backlinks to pages of sites with high authority in your niche, i.e. Wikipedia. Remember to balance the number of outbound links on each page of those Wordpress sites. Also remember that Google loves media-rich sites, so an introductory video on the homepages of those Wordpress sites will be good... 2. Build a link wheel for those Wordpress sites and your main website. You can do this: Register accounts and post relevant content pages on 20 high homepage PR Web 2.0 sites. Point the backlinks of these content pages to the homepages and internal pages of your new Wordpress sites and your main site... Write and manually submit articles to the five most popular general article directories. Point the backlinks of those articles to the homepages and internal pages of those new Wordpress websites and your main site as well as to those Web 2.0 content pages... Register accounts and build profile page content with backlinks on 300 high PR Web forums using Sick Submitter. Point the backlinks of those profile pages to your manually submitted articles and to your Web 2.0 content pages... Write and submit articles to 300 high PR article directories using Article Marketing Robot (AMR). Point the backlinks of those articles to your profile pages and to those Web 2.0 content pages... Submit your introductory videos and other helpful videos relevant to your niche and target keywords to the 10 most popular video directories. Use your target keywords as tags of those videos. Point the URLs of your video submissions to the URLs of your manually submitted articles and Web 2.0 content pages as supplemental/additional and relevant content materials... Develop and submit relevant ebooks and slideshow presentations with video and audio clips to heavily trafficked, high PR, top Google-ranking (for your target keywords) ebook and slideshow repositories. Place your target keywords as tags and the URLs of the homepages and internal pages of your main website, those new Wordpress sites and your Web 2.0 content pages... Register accounts and post social bookmarks on the top 100 or so social bookmarking sites using Bookmarking Demon. Point your social bookmark links to the homepages and internal pages of your main website and those new Wordpress sites, as well as to your Web 2.0 content pages, your manually submitted articles, your profile pages, your videos and your ebooks/presentations... Manually build blog comment content and forum post content with backlinks on heavily trafficked, high PR, top Google-ranking (for your target keywords) blogs and Web forums. Point your backlinks to the homepage and internal pages of your main website and those new Wordpress websites, as well as to your manually submitted articles, videos, ebooks and slideshow presentations... Constantly update the written and non-written content of your main website. Post updates with backlinks pointing to your new onsite and offsite content on Facebook and Twitter... Be more creative and add other things to diversify and increase your online brand marketing and backlink building campaign output. You can develop and submit press releases, include your main website and those new Wordpress websites in high authority, contextually relevant Web directories, find guest authoring opportunities on heavily trafficked, high PR, top Google-ranking (for your target keywords) blogs and sites which need unique content. These blogs and sites should of course be offering content on their sites that's contextually relevant to your target audience, your target niche, your target keywords and your onsite/offsite content... That's about it. Hope this helps... |

The trick to ranking highly is to utilize your budget/time effectively. Low value links such as social bookmarks, directories, forum profiles and blog comments take 100's of links to reach the value of a high-authority link. I would HIGHLY recommend that you get your own EDU blogs, as they are HUGE authority and offer endless backlink potential (you own the blog afterall!) |

Directory submission is also good. For a new site, to make it look natural, you should maintain consistency in creating backlinks.

Article submission can be effective if the article is well spun or let's just say unique enough for SEO. You can also try social bookmarking. Jack |

Most of my link building strategies depend on competitor analysis of top sites in my niche. I think a combination of social networking activities coupled with guest blogging can do the trick.

Marx said it all well. There's no need for further arguments. The problem with a long post is that people disregard it since they are way too tired to read. Marx summed everything up with perfection. You nailed it, Marx!

Directory submissions are fine for new site. They do help but not by much. Google will still consider these inks but they are very low quality. I suggest you vary your linking strategies to include different link building tasks. The four you mention are important factors, I suggest you try using a linkwheel process, forum postings, blog comments and directory submissions. However you should be aware that article submission is still a big factor in building backlinks. Content is still very much king!
