Hi warriors. The question is as stated above. I got a PR2 health nice website currently ranked 7 on page 1 google for a keyword with 40k+ searches. The site is generating steady income but I still want to rank it a bit higher. So far I only High pr and strong backlinks to this site not one profile backlink. Is it risky to build profile backlinks to gain some serp? It's been ranked 7 for 2 months without 1 single backlink built. I'm thankful for every answer. Mike |

I would not think it will hurt your Page rank unless you blast out 1000's of automated spam links. In reality any profiles you build just for the link is a spam link really. I have to agree with Mike. Do more of what has worked for you and if you want to try something new there are many more methods than profil linking you might want to try first. |

Ditto to what Mike & Nick said above. A few profile links aren't really likely to do much for you because of the minimal juice they pass, let a lone the tiny amount of those links that will actually be crawled/indexed/cached/counted toward your site. When they are added to your backlink profile among your quality backlinks, they look like what a single grain of sand would look like on the beach. Throw some more high PR links at it.

If you do decide to create a few profile links make sure we are talking easy profile and busy listings that you will fill out the last detail starting from your name to the business details and about section to get some content on. Just creating a profile with a link is creating a blank page with a link, which will raise a spam alert for sure. Again, like everyone mentioned already, don't overdo it, you should continue with quality links and mix in a few of profile and other types of links to get some diversity, but moderated of course. |

If what you are doing for link building is currently working, why stray from it? Keep adding high quality links.
