Default Creating PDF's for SEO

Is it normal to convert every article you post on your site to PDF to submit to doc sites? Or is it better practice to rewrite it before doing this? I have yet to implement doc sites into my SEO strategy and wasn't sure if it's better to use original material or just use the posts that I have.

I did this about a year ago in order to build backlinks from document sharing sites to my money sites with no real results. It took too much time for minimal return/benefits. Your file gets put on a new PR n/a page which yields barely any juice, gets barely any traffic, and in many cases you don't get to use anchor text to link back to your sites. If you want to re-purpose the articles on your website, do some article marketing with a program like Article Marketing Robot or ArticleDemon. Hope that helps.

It does, thanks for the info. Just trying new free methods since I already use BMR but results tend to slow down once I my sites reach top 3 or 4 spots so I am trying to diversify my links even more.

Currently I also do Web 2.0 Sites, Directory Submissions, and starting to create Videos, but again I'm not able to break those last few spots even for some not so competitive keywords. By the same token I don't want to have to purchase completely new software and start another $100 a month service.

Why not create a free give-away and discreetly embed your anchor text. The goal would only be the backlink. If you have something useful, you'll probable have more sites picking it up than an article from an article directory

The question is, why post on an external site that you don't own, when you can rank a pdf just the same as a web page on your own domain?

Like Carl said, do a free give-away & host it on your own domain. SEO the pdf with proper hyperlinks inside the pdf (anchor-text, etc...). If the pdf includes useful content it will go viral on it's own, If it's free.

Upsell from inside the pdf.
