Here is my first shot at some on-page SEO. Be brutal, but gentle, if that makes sense. I got to the point where I was/am ranking high on the first page of google for what I thought was the "right" keywords. As it turned out, there was zero competition (and zero searches) for those keywords. I know, I did it backwards. So... I've got just enough SEO knowledge at this point to be dangerous. I'm looking to rank the site for: vacuum forming mold Site: http://www.jmenterprises.net I optimized the hell out of it, but very well could have gone overboard or missed some obvious things. So - beat me up and let me know what you think. Thanks! |

You need much more content. Add some paragraphs, the text looks ugly. And put the keyword in the last sentence. I bet there are more mistakes but i have to go now, your offsite SEO is more important though. So focus on that! |

Some quick suggestions: 1. More text on page 2. Title tags Why have "Welcome"? Waste of characters and really unneeded. No need for duplicates of your keyword "Vacuum forming mold" Redundant page titles with usually one word changed on each page, ie Process vs Welcome, etc. One last thing, is your business dependent upon face to face or can you sell your product online as well? If you can only sell your product locally, I'd also add your location to your title tags. Again, I don't know your business, but its not worth it to me if I come across your site and am in a different city/state and can't use your services. Other than that, you are pretty good for now, start building backlinks and modify what I said above. |

In my defense, I didn't design it. Just trying to make it better. What little I know about this stuff I've learned trying to play with the site. Shunks - what do you mean by ugly? The font? Too small? RevSEO - I'll get on the content. I'll also try to figure out the title tag issue. There is a script in the header.php that replaces the first word with a different word on each page (ex. Welcome, Patterns, etc.) and then the rest of the tag is the same on each page. I'll have to see if I can figure out a way around that. And yes - our customers are nationwide, so I'm not trying to be geo-specific with anything. Thanks for the tips! |
