The way to check if it's indexed is to go to the search engine and search: site:yourdomain.com (notice no http or www?) The pages that appear have been indexed. Your search position will depend on the keyword, or search term if you prefer it that way. You can check your rank for a keyword here Finally timescales, you won't get indexed at all unless the search engines know about it and the best way of ensuring this happens is to place relevant links offsite. Some people (including some people who sell this kind of service) say 4-6 weeks, but using a combination of Google webmaster tools, alalytics and a pingler ping, I have never had asite take more than 2 days to get indexed. |

Follow these simple steps: 1. Submit your website's sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools. 2. Go to Ping-o-Matic! and ping your website. 3. Go to http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl and add your url to google. 4. Go to Blog and Ping Tool - Use Pingler.com to Drive Traffic your Blogs and Websites and submit your website. 5. Do some social bookmarking by onlywire.com. Your website will be indexed within next hours. It will not take more then 24 hours. |

Sorry to say this but "Nothing, analytics and a few backlinks" will go some way to showing why you can't find it. As Dave has said can you find it in the serps when you use the following?... site:yourdomain.com If not there's some good advice in this thread for getting it indexed. | |

If it's ranked but you're targeting a specific keyword, then Rank Tracker is great (just use the free version if you can't afford the full version, just means you can't save)

Like the above posts, I just submit my site to services like Ping-o-Matic. Sometimes I will also put the link into my signature a make a post on popular forums, something relevant of course. Site gets indexed always within 24 hrs.

Submitting to Google is not necessary. Google will find you... they're watching... haha Seriously, though...One good way to get indexed faster is to do the following: 1. Create an xml sitemap at Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps Generator - it will crawl your site and create one for you that you can download. It's free for small sites. 2. Sign up for Google Webmaster Tools and submit your XML sitemap - google uses the sitemap to index your pages and you're more likely to get all your site's pages indexed that way. Sign up at: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/dashboard The reality is that Google will find your site if you have any links out there... so you want links on sites that get crawled a lot. One way to do that is to submit articles to big article sites like http://ezinearticles.com/ - you put your link in the author box and Google will find it. Of course, the other WF members have good advice, too - follow it all and do as much as you can. In any case, it might take 24 hours or so. But the more you do, the better off you are. Good luck! |

In my experiences I have found it useful to just focus on building your site and then create some backlinks to it regularly and it will be indexed in a timely manner. I would not even worry about submitting it to the search engines or anything as they will find it if you create some decent content and work on links.
