Default How to reduce bounce rate

My bounce rate is peeking for some reason, I want to resuce it to under 45%, I have tried almost everything. Innovative tips anyone (I have came across a few tools lately but I would like to hear other opinions before sharing them).

Don't send non-targeted garbage traffic. lol I'm not trying to be mean either, I'm just the first of many other people who will come along and say the same thing.

You want to promote your site to people who are pre-targeted, people who are already interested in what you are promoting. I use Tweet Attacks PRO for traffic, among many other things like organic traffic from search ranking, relevant blogs to my niche, answering questions on Yahoo! Answers that are relevant to my site, etc.

I'm sure you see the pattern though lol

Here, this should help get you started. www.thefreeblogcommenter.com

You can find relevant blogs to your niche, scan the PR (pagerank) of them and start posting to the highest ranking ones. Not only can this help bring in targeted traffic, it will ALSO boost your site's ranking in search results.

You can also customize your comment as you see fit for each blog, making it 100% WHITE HAT.

I don't post to anything with a PR-N/A or PR-0. When you run out of PR1-PR10 blogs, adjust your keywords and find more.

Try to post on those places which are related to your website. It will work for sure for reducing bounce rate.

If you have a blog, you can effectively decrease your bounce rate by showing only excerpts of your posts on the home page - this way, folks have to click on the link "Click here to continue reading" to read the rest of the post and by doing so they in fact visit another page of your site, which in turn recreases BR.

Bounce rate means that user is coming to your site but they are going back just from the entrace page.It means there may be some problem in your landing page.So u must do some changes in the homepage.Try to make it more effective. You should update the contents in your home page.Make your home page more live and happening and always keep your promises in your home page which are made in the description of your site. So the user will stay at your site. I hope it will help you in decreasing the bounce rate.

You need to make sure your pages relate to the keywords people are using to find it. If it is not relevant or filled with ads then people will move on quickly.

I have found having a good relevant image and then making sure your first paragraph of text is enticing enough to keep people onsite!

Your existing 45% is very good I'd say. Not sure what's your target. Generally the only option for improving the bounce rate is "sticky content" maybe with some good useful videos which can make the visitors watch till the end.

45% isn't bad at all! No flash, no 'click here to enter' pages (though if you've got a 45% bounce rate I guess you probably haven't got one of these) good content above the fold, if visitors are coming from SE make sure the page actually matches what the serp title/description says...
