the reason why i ask is that my hosting provides free tracking. i also have google analytics. my hosting stuff says i get over 100 vistits per day but GA says less than 10! whats going on?

Not sure though but seems that the hosting stats also includes the SE bots visits. The GA stats shows real visitors. Maybe this is the reason

Lots of different factors at work including whose visits are included. Remember that Analytics is Javascript based, so not everyone will get reported as some visitors have that switched off. It's probably also near the end of your page so if users click away too fast the page may not load that code and no visit will be reported. |
