Lightbulb How much should I spend on AdWords?

I wonder how far should I go with promoting my site via AdWords? I want to create an Adwords campaign for my web design service and let's say my price for a custom website design is $500, so I'm willing to spend $100 on Adwords to get at least one client, so that my profit is $400. What do you think? Would this be a good strategy?

I'm a freelance web designer. Anyone has any experience with promoting his design services via Adwords?

Also, it is quite difficult to get some clicks on your ad. You need to have your ad in the top 3 position, but then you will also get many useless clicks. On the other hand, if your position is 4 or lower, you will hardly ever get any clicks.

I know SEO would be better and it would bring me more traffic, but I'm still doing my research on the best web design keywords that would convert.

No, it is not a good strategy. You are expecting a 400% ROI. You are asking WAY to much.

Didn't say it wasn't possible. I said it was too much to ask for if that's your goal. Do you not agree that if OP is on a forum asking if it is a good plan that it probably isn't?
