Default Spyfu - how accurate is it?

I've been doing some keyword research, and I found some striking differences between what google tells me and what spyfu tells me. Where does spyfu even get their data, and how accurate is it?

spyfu is on a delay. I have sites that are ranking on the first page but when i check my site it will still show its on the 3rd 4th page...its still a good tool to have in your arsenal tho

It is very inaccurate--I can only speak to the lawyer/doctor niche.

Hi AndreiMihai,

Spyfu uses a small data sample size and extrapolates from that. You definitely shouldn't consider it accurate, I have compared many of my own campaigns to their data and it was never close to being accurate.

You should consider their data to be clues or hints, anything but accurate.

Yes the data sample is too small to consider it accurate.

Very inaccurate, not just delayed. If it's just delays you'll still get close (but not exact) data, but SpyFu is just waaaaayyyyy off. It's weird that you can see all their ads all over the internet but they don't use resources fixing their system.

More inaccurate than it's competitors, semrush and keywordspy. Semrush gets data from google, no idea about keywordspy data but there's accuracy level is higher.
