A click is just what it says it is, a click. An impression is a view.

Nicely explained the difference. I'll only add that clicks will lead the visitor to the advertisers website and can be an expected buyer and impressions are just views of the ads. Views are counted with the opening of the pages.

An impression is when a link / banner is viewed and presented on the computer screen of a visitor

Impressions means your website is in search against how many keywords in search engines. Click means click on the link.
