How to increase Alexa Rank?

I'm just wondering why my site's Alexa ranking went down everyday even though I got 50+ visits everyday. What do you think is the reason? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Simple: Buy traffic, junk traffic, whatever traffic for 3 months. But be sure you remove Adsense during that time or you risk to be banned.

I had an improvement in my Alexa ranking by just putting the badge of Alexa on my site. I don't quite know how it works, but I am just getting around 100-150 visitors a day.

Yes BUT people compare Alexa rankings of your competition. And they JUDGE with that.

Alexa index is mainly driven by traffic volume, so if you want to improve it you need more traffic to your site.

I think you misspoke here. You actually want your number to go down with Alexa. So if it is going down that is a good thing.

The best thing that I have found to improve your alexa rankings is to install the sparky toolbar on firefox. Make it a point to visit your website every day from every unique IP address that you get online with. This will improve your score over time and can easily get you in the XXX,XXX range.

There will be a certain point where you will bottom out and you will just maintain a certain average range. From there you will need other visitors using the alexa toolbar and real traffic.

Also, disregard Alexa. There are many niches were the numbers are totally irrelevant. Yesterday I saw an insurance website with an alexa in the millions, but compete.com said it gets over 2K visitors a month. Likewise I've had sites with Alexas in the 500,000 range with relatively little traffic.

The best metrics for your site is google analytics, awstats or other tracking tools that are installed directly into your site.

Alexa, compete and others can only show the estimates of your real traffic.

Try to increase the number of UNIQUE visitors to your page, not just impressions, but unique visitors. You can easily do it by doing a quick social bookmarking

I also lost a lot of rating points in 3 months. Was 110,000 and I got 100 visits everyday. A now I have 400,000 and I get 200 visits everyday. It's problem, I wrote about it here:

If site alexa get poor then try to increase the traffic of your site. And these days blogs, articles, videos, social bookmarking and directory submission be more helpful in increasing the traffic of the site. And use some of the content with the social media as social media has play the major role these days in providing the traffic to the site.

Alexa ranking really depends up on the Sites traffic.
If your site traffic increase , the alexa ranking will be increase step by step. If your site traffic has been constant and not increasing from 50 , than alexa ranking will fall down from there. But , it really impact in the traffic. But if you are looking to increase your alexa ranking, you need to concentrate on site traffic increase. So that your alexa ranking will be increased constantly and it will not come down .

Plus you can encourage your visitors to leave their testimonials about your site You may embed a link to an appropriate Alexa page where they can rank your resource.
And add the Alexa widget, it will improve your ranking.

why do you want to increase alexa ranking of your site?
Try to get more and more traffic according to me dont focus on alexa ranking. Try to get organic ranking so you can get better traffic.

Major answers is to increase traffic... I also experience that sometimes sudden changes in rankings. Just continue how you optimize your sites until you commit what you desired.
