Default How Page speed affects Ranking?

Hello Warriors,

I have question about page speed.

Can page speed affects ranking in SERP?

One of my site which was on 2nd page of Google before 1 month. Now Google not showing even in 500 results. I checked my sites homepage speed on Page Speed Online, then it shows 42(out of 100) means very slow.

So anyone knows about this?

Thanks

I've got a feeling that the Google Toolbar may report back to Google how fast pages load and this can have some bearing on rankings. Google want to deliver a fast experience to their users, so it is well worth ensuring that your web host has a good connection.

Yes I agree with you. Slow sites may be penalized by search engines.

Speed is definatley a factor for user experience and Google is trying to give the best user experience in it's results. Therefore it's not unreasonable that speed could eb a ranking factor.

I would suggest that not only having a fast loading site to be benificial but having a very stable and consistently fast loading site.

Site speed is a ranking factor in Google’s algorithm. Here are a few points that describe how site speed affects ranking:

1. 1. Users generally avoid those sites that take longer time to load.

2. 2. Slower sites may find themselves slipping in SERPs.

3. 3. Faster sites are more easily indexed by Google; this can help improve your SERP ranking.

Matt Cutts Blog Article

“fewer than 1% of search queries will change as a result of incorporating site speed into our ranking. That means that even fewer search results are affected, since the average search query is returning 10 or so search results on each page.”… “Compared to those signals, site speed will carry much less weight.”

I got an increase in visitors when I moved one of my big sites to a dedicated server. I also did some backlinking so I'm not sure if it was site speed alone that affected my ranking.

But I know my CTR increased when I changed to dedicated.

Yes, It is. But more important thing is that its affect your conversion ratio.

Research shows that website conversion rates are improved when a website is lightening fast, as people spend less time waiting and more time browsing in their task -based mindset.

I believe load time is a factor in googles algorithm from personal experience. While I dont think it is a major factor, it still plays a small role.

However the main thing your load time is going to effect is your visitors and conversions.
