Whew... I spent 8 full hours doing some 380 article submissions today for my site... I hope it will yield good result... 27 articles submitted to around 62 directories manually... and is not done yet...

All that in one day? wow, talk about a hard worker. How long it takes to create all those articles, umm I presume the 27 articles are different.

I know people would say it's okay to submit the same articles to different directories, but to hear directly from you solidsnake, do you alter the articles little bit before submitting them?

These articles have been written since January 1st. I want my work organized... I don't want to write and then submit... I like to work one job at a time... If I want to write in one day, I write the whole day... If I want to submit in one day, I submit the whole day.. ..

Yes, all articles are different. No problem about submitting same articles in the same directories... These articles BTW are already published in EZA and articlesbase so I don't need to worry about other article sites...

I just have a momentum today...

I have a goal and I want to beat my competitors within 4 months..

Forgive me if this is a silly question but I'm a little confused. Solidsnake you say that "you've already submitted to EZA and AB so you don't need to worry about other article sites"

Are you saying it's ok to submit the same article to other article sites as you've already done those two.

Or

You don't need to worry about submitting to article sites at all - in which case where are you submitting them to?

EZA will not accept your article if it is already published online with other article sites...

Yes, it's not a problem submitting the same articles to other directories as long as no similar article is posted in your site... Google only penalize your site if you post the same article in your site and post it to article directories...

I guess I'm lucky then, the first two articles are similar to posts on my blog but a altered them a little, changed the titles and contents.

The articles got decent amount of readers and delivered visitors to my blog.

Have to be careful next time then.

EZA deliveres good amount of traffic... I have around 12 live articles at EZA all pointing to one website and since January1 , these articles have referred 158 visitors to my site... Imagine how many visitors I will be getting every month if I have 100 articles in EZA alone... and as the article is getting old and becoming popular, it became more and more visible in search engines..

Hmmm makes sense, one of my blog when at it's infancy, I wrote an article about it to eza, not long after that the article even got higher rank than the blog. After that my blog slowly got higher rank also.

Article submissions really one of a good SEO techniques for either well established or new blogs/sites.

EZA and articlesbase are the best... One of my articles in AB got 56 views and 27 URL clicks within 24 hours it approved...

LOL, when you search for "bounce traffic" in google, 1st and 2nd positions are mine (EZA and AB) same article... That's the power of article marketing...

Why do you say Google will penalize me for this? Articles on my site should beat out the same articles in Ezine and other directories because I'm building so many backlinks.

Believe me... it's not a good idea to submit your articles in your blog/site to article directories... I was penalized before because of that..

How do you know when Google penalizes you? How extreme is the penalty, is it just a lower return in the search results or totally being omitted?

Hi Solidsnake,

How did you know that you were penalized for duplicate content? Did Google notify you, did you make an assumption because your rank dropped shortly after?

I would like to know if I've been penalized, how would I go about it?

I did not do anything wrong aside from posting one of my blog articles to forums and 5 article directories...

My daily organic of around 800 was decreased to around 20. There were 5 keyword phrases that I ranked 2nd in google and during the banning they were nowhere to be found... moved to 100th pages of google...

The penalty was lifted after 82 weeks

So you knew you were penalized because your ranking dropped? And you knew it was because you posted your article on two forums because that was the only thing you did wrong? There was no notice or other indicator from Google?

So you're saying that the article has to sit on your blog for "x" number of days before you can even submit it to article directories?

I'm fairly new to article directories and as of now, I only submit to eza.

Good work.. but you COULD have just paid Article Trader $14 to submit your articles to like 400+ article sites.

Tho I have myself done quite a few 4hour sessions just submitting articles all over then hitting up socialmarker.com to promote each one <<< HIGHLY recommended once your articles are live.

Do you keep track of your traffic? Let us know the increase in traffic spikes that you get

My childhood friend who is working with google told me that it was a common case... so I didn't need to receive any notice form google to believe..

It's not reliable... I wanted to see my own submitted article approved with my name as author and my links pointing to my site.

Have you tried them before? I've found them to be pretty reliable... the articles ended up where they said it would. They can submit articles on your behalf (your own log in if you wish). The only thing, was that some (like maybe 10) out of those 400+ sites got the article but declined it for some reason.

But I'm not too bothered... as their page rank was pretty insignificant.
