Rank Higher On Google Search Engines Using Article Marketing

As we all know, it’s no mystery that driving traffic to our site is a key step in becoming successful at internet marketing.

So, today I want to share with you a technique that happens to work really well for getting free targeted traffic to your site.

I use this technique weekly if not daily and it brings me great results.

It’s called article marketing and although I know it’s no hidden secret for most of you - it’s always good to put it out there and possibly help out the newcomer.

One of the best tools for driving FREE targeted traffic to your site or squeeze page is to use article marketing and if done correctly you’re articles will not only be in article directories but your articles will also rank higher on the Google search engines.

How?

You do this by creating and submitting original keyword rich articles to article directories such as ezine articles, article base, etc.

Submitting to such directories will allow you to add a link back to your website, thus allowing you to send targeted traffic to what ever part of your site you wish to send them to.

Allow me to demonstrate how to use SEO for article marketing in six easy steps…

1.) Create value and solve a problem.

Before you can begin creating your articles ask yourself what problems will my potential prospect need help with.

If you can solve someone problem and deliver valuable content at the same time - chances are your going to drive tons of traffic to your site.

2.) Choose a keyword that users are already typing into Google and that relates to your niche.

Let me give you an example of a popular keyword: “real estate funding”

3.) Create your heading (title) using your keyword.

Google love to see your keyword in the heading.

Here’s an example of a heading using the keyword mentioned above: “Real Estate Funding - How to Find Hard Money Lenders”

(In your heading - If you can add your keyword in front and solve a problem - 80% of your article is done)

4.) Write a 400 word article using your keyword 1 to 2% in the body of your article.

(Use you keyword 3 to 6 times in your article and also don’t forget to use related keywords as well.)

Example: Real estate funding (main keyword) - hard money lenders, funding real estate, real estate lenders, etc (secondary keywords)

(If you don’t know where to look for keywords - Try the Google Keyword Tool Search - It’s a free tool provided by Google that will tell you exactly what your readers are already typing into Google.)

5.) Submit your article to a popular article directory.

May I recommend you start out by posting your article to Ezine articles…

(I’ve tried a variety of article directories but Ezine articles has given me the best results by far - but it’s up to you)

6.) Add a resource box.

Usually with every article you submit to an article directory, you’ll be allowed to add a resource box.

(This is the reason why we submit our articles to article directories)

A resource box allows you to tell the reader in one or two sentences a little bit about yourself and most importantly it also allows you to add a link back to your website or landing page.

Note: Give your readers a reason to click on your link - only promote one page (your squeeze page)

Remember: you readers really don’t care about you - you need to offer a benefit for people to click on your link.

When using SEO for article marketing, creating keyword rich articles and submitting them to article directories will allow you to rank higher on the search engines thus drive free targeted traffic to your site.

With the new Google algorithm and the Article directories making changes it is better to aim for 600+ words per article. Also, to figure out how many times you need to use the keyword for the right percentage of density take the total number of words in the article times the percentage, then divide it by the number of words in your keyword.

For Example,

600 word articles at 2% density with the keyword "custom golf clubs"

600 x 0.02 (2%) = 12 / 3 (3 words in the keyword phrase) = 4

This means you need to use the keyword 4 times to get 2% density

Also, consider sites like isnare.com and submityourarticle.com since they send your article to many directories along with other publishers.

SEOpressor is good, but if you follow it exactly you can actually get slapped by Google. You don't have to use every single thing that SEO pressor asks for.

Maricio - Brad here. You are right. Don't forget that there is also a controversy about whether duplicate articles can be posted to more than one article site.

Chris Farrell did a recent piece on Ezinearticle.com about duplicate content. According to him and Ezinearticle.com duplicate content is not prohibited as long as the poster is the original author.

The common advice appears to be though that you want to post the article on the site you are using as your primary location. Once posted, you should be able to start posting added copies on other sites as well as your blog.

Nonetheless, there are a number of article spinning programs that are out there that help modify original articles sufficiently to make them 70%+ unique.

Have you had any experience with spinning software? What success have you gotten?

And just on top of that two things.

1) i vouch for this method 100%, it works like a charm.

2) Get yourself a good auto article submission tool, because you can literally have thousnads of articles submitted and indexed withink minutes. One of the popular ones is article marketing bot, ive had great success with it.

I agree with seopressor. I use it but have never hit above the 90% mark. Many times it is due to keyword density, and going after the amount that it recommends can make your information sound really spammy.

That is absolutly correct - I have conducted my own research with duplicate content.

As far as I know as long as your the author and creator of the orignial content you won't get flagged for duplicate content.

I've posted the same article in my blog, ezine articles, squiddo, knol, facebook, twitter, digg, reddit, etc. and I have never been flagged for doing so...

Any other web sites you suggest to post to? I am also using UAW. I am not sure it is helping that much but have only been going 3 weeks.
I am using the Best Spinner.

I also dump some of the articles also on Social Monkee's 25 free per day as well.

This will probably cause some controversy, but I don't really car. Article Spinning is Garbage. It is an outdated strategy that worked when article directories actually had Google love. Now they are not loved nearly as much and don't rank as well, so spinning is a waste of time.

You want to do what is called Article Syndication, which means you want your article (THE ORIGINAL) to go out to as many publishers, directories, and authority sites as possible.

Next, someone will mention the Duplicate Content Penalty, which is another load of crap and does not even make sense when you break it down.

If you look at article marketing as a way to get backlinks and get your article on blogs, sent to lists, and in newsletters, then you will do much better than depending on the Directories for traffic.

I recommend sites like isnare.com, submityourarticle.com, and articlecrooner.com

I would respectfully disagree that article marketing is
the way to go. This is, after all, 2011.

And it certainly is NOT the most important reason, or any reason
for that matter, that one makes it to #1 for a real search
phrase.

What you are describing is basic 2005 article marketing ABC's.

Did all the backlinks come from the same domain? I don't understand how you got 42 backlinks from one article directory unless your article got syndicated.

Guys... this is 2011, not 2008 - 2010. In 2011, it's best to publish the articles on your own sites. Lol, EzineArticles... blah. ArticleBase which is no follow.. double blah.

Article Marketing used to be one of the SEO strategies. But, lately, most article directories converted into a no-follow crap. There are other ways of doing linkbuilding aside from article marketing, so don't rely on this.

Correct. Every 2 - 3 days, but even once a week is fine, but depends on your website and niche. Regardless of niche/website, every few days is fine.

I was just thinking the same thing myself...what year am I in here?

After an absence for over 2 years due to family health issues I arrive back on the scene in July this year and wondered what planet I'm on!

The whole landscape has changed dramatically.

I just got approved for a new article on EZINE, but I felt things had changed so much, I'm now wondering if Article Marketing is still viable?

Even this Warrior forum has changed!
I'm amazed and now have to go create a new plan of attack after you all have confirmed my gut feelings!
