It's called "meta-subliminal advertising". Through certain subliminal stimuli (the use of meta tags), the webmaster can subtly control the actions of his visitors (in this case, bookmarking his website). A popular one used on MFA sites is: <meta name="boredom-related-trolling" content= "You will click on my Adsense ads."> This may or may not be against Adsense TOS, but it can dramatically increase CTR. Be warned, there are sinister black hat meta-subliminal webmasters using these tactics for their own evil agendas. Use with caution. |
