Hi guys. I am doing some researchon what the best keyword research tools are. I am wondering what people are using or would use especially if is (in the ideal world) they could afford the paid options (if they are better). What would be the ideal keyword arsenal? Here are some ideas to date: Wordtracker Market Samurai (paid version) Google Keyword tool SpyFu (paid version) Seo Bar Add On (Firefox) Search Status Addon (Firefox) Yahoo Site Explorer SEO Spyglass Very interested to hear the Warriors thoughts on the best Keyword Tools Thanks in advance for your help. I use 1. Adwords free tool for kw research (100 times faster than MS)(uses same database) 2. For Top 10 analysis SEO etc I use Market Samurai,(paid version of course) it does this is about 30 secs per kws Dont use Market Samurai for kw research unless you like sitting there for 10 mins for each kw |

Google keyword tool - FREE Market Samurai - Paid I don't even advise starters to buy market samurai because you can still do very well with free Google keyword tool. |

Market Samurai is a flaming piece of garbage. I would avoid it. The Google Keyword tool works well enough. You can use the free version of Traffic Travis to do a lot of what MS does. Take the money it would cost for MS and buy SEO SpyGlass or sign up to Majestic SEO instead. |

All you need is Googles Free Keyword tool. It contains anything you need to do your keyword research. You should be individually and manually doing research on at least the top 10 results to get a feel for how strong the pages are and their backlinks. Some software like MS is good as a compliment to this system but do not fully rely on it to get the best keywords. |

I had to get my own custom software made (due to the nature of my business) but before that just used the big G's tool. Never the most accurate but if you get your thinking cap on you will figure out a way to see if the search traffic that it's showing is real and not bot traffic or other marketers who are targeting the same KW who are typing it into G everyday to see where if site is ranking.

For looking seo parameters and analysing backlinks, I'd suggest to use combo of three tools: seospyglass+seoquake+yahoo site explorer. My favourite keyword research tool is semrush(paid version), because it's suggestions for long-tails are superb! |
