Are there any real ways to generat traffic for free?

Does anyone know any real ways to generate free traffic. I don't mind if they are time consuming as long as they show real results. Does anyone here know of any?

True, if you in this for business, you need to invest money since your time is more valuable doing other stuff.

Nothing is free. Even if you use your time to get traffic you are going to need to pay money for hosting every month and for at least one domain name. However, for a small investment of $5 to $15 a month and $12 for a domain name for a year you can get a blog up on Wordpress, use free plugins, write content, submit it to your blog, then submit it to free article directories, comment on other blog posts in your niche with a link back to your blog, become active in the forums in your niche with a signature to your blog, and you will have traffic coming to your site for nearly nothing.

It's like a community in every blogging niche. Social bookmark and ping your posts.
Write articles for the article directories with link back to your site.
Create articles on Web 2.0 properties that link back to your site.
Network with people on social networks.
Do some guest posts on popular blogs.

You can generate absolutely free traffic from different forums, social media networks. For instance, in FB there are many different fan pages or groups where you can be active. Also there are some free directories and article directories, where you can add you blog or your articles with your link.

But I totally disagree with the fact that you said "no".

There are many ways to build traffic for free without spending a dime online.

Here are a few techniques I use regularly.

• Yahoo Answers
• Writing Articles
• Writing Blog Posts to Rank in Search Engines
• Classifieds
• Facebook Pages
• Social Networks
• Social Bookmarking Sites (like Digg or StumbleUpon)
• Ad Swaps (I've personally never touched it)

There are many more and if I had more time (it's 5am and I need some sleep), I would probably post a few more.

But really there are hundreds of methods you can use in order to generate free traffic to your website. You just need to use them properly and take action.

I can't believe how many people are saying no. I think the BEST and MOST TARGETED traffic you can get is Organic Search Engine Traffic by ranking highly in the SERPs.

Yes, you can pay for backlinks, and Automation software and so on. But at the end of the day, if you have no money then it can be done for free. Put your time in, rank for some highly searched keywords with not too much competition and you can get free traffic for a long time.

You can write article and put it on Scrib.com and once it approved get the URL ( website address) and put it on digg.com. You will see you get lots of traffic with this

Doing SEO and getting ranked in the search engines for highly-targeted keyword phrases for stuff people are looking for (on-page and off-page, article writing on free sites that point back to a particular page on your blog), doing forum commenting, blog commenting, using social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, and Stumbleupon, using social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.
