For example in the new niche I am going after the top 2 listings are so poorly backlinked for most of the kws, its laughable took me a month to find all these kws but It is not uncommon for me to see backlinks to page for top 3 listings look something like this 14 21 45 and the PR of the pages listed is also always 2 I believe But the site is a 13 yr old domain How important do you think that is I leapfrogged over 5 and 6 yr old domains on my resort site, easily within 6 months because I feel their backlinks were terrible (mine are not that great on that site either, ..yet) So I have proven that site age up to about 6 yrs is not that difficult to leap over Have you leaped past 10 yr old domains? with good backlinking?: and how about PR have you found that to be important |

Given what we are researching right now, domain age doesn't have anything to do with it. In our beta testing, we are creating brand new sites with little content and only a few backlinks and getting to page one position 1 - 5 on Google for some highly competitive keywords. It does however depend on some other factors that are ignored by most presently. |

Outwest - Thanks for posting this . I was wondering the same thing. Matt Cutts video on this : Matt Cutts says that within 3 months, Google will be able to index your site and from then on,you have the same chances any other site with similar backlinks. |

I have heard people say Domain Age doesnt matter Now PR, I think is not as simple If you are trying to outrank a 13 yr old domain with a PR2, no problem even with a 6 mos old site but if you are trying to outrank a PR6, Even with a domain age of 3 yrs, I dont think you will have an easy time Now if their backlinks to the page are showing like 20 or something like that, well thats a different story or if they have zero onpage SEO, ditto but correct me if I am wrong PR5-7 are not at all easy to outrank. However if the page is showing Pr5-7 Chances are it is VERY strongly backlinked, otherwise how did they get that high PR? Now Sometimes we get guys who easily fly by Wikipedia which I think is a PR7 Maybe higher but the inner pages on Wikipedia that you are competing against I believe a lot of times are PR4 any thoughts on PR ? |
