Hello, I am new to building niche websites. I have found a keyword phrase (4 words) using Market Samurai that gets around 200 exact daily searches. Below is a screenshot of MS SEO competition analysis. tinypic(dot)com/view.php?pic=vd2rk6&s=7 **PLEASE REMOVE (dot)** As can be seen, most of the top 10 sites have very little on page optimisation. My main concern is would I be able to make it to the top ten relatively quickly (within 3 months or so, provided good content and back linking) given the number of backlinks, PR and domain age of some of these sites? |

It's really going to depend by looking at the top 10 and seeing what type of domains are showing up, if the .com, .net, .org are available (if not that means people might be competing for it), and how many backlinks the top 10 have. I'm not really a backlink type dude, but seeing as they are still a good estimate on a keywords competition, it's suggested to look over them. As for the searches, thats 6,000 searches a month which is great. Most of my sites target keywords with only 1,000 search a month and they do wonderful. So it all depends on the keyword in question, competition and if you have the mentality to actually compete for it. Instead of asking, I think your best option is to take action. In the time you typed up the question + took a screenshot and will read the responses you could have purchased a domain, hosting, and already began building the website. So make sure to take action otherwise it's pointless ![]() P.S. If money is not so great, then I understand, but it's still best to take action even if that just means creating a WordPress.com or Blogger blog with the keywords. |

It doesn't matter if you can rank there if you can not sell there. What do you know about the market besides 200 people supposedly search there? |

What is the Adwords CPC for your keyword term? I usually like to target a CPC over $1. What about affiliate products? Check out Clickbank and Commission Junction to see if there's some good products to promote with good looking landing pages. Without a decent CPC and affiliate products, those 200 per day searches could be wasted. Take care, Kevin |

Thanks for your responses, much appreciated. Well this keyword is a UK based one, has roughly 600 daily searches (hence Market Samurai predicts 250 visitors a day for the no 1 site on Google). The cost per click according to MS is £1.50
