I have a couple questions since I'm new to the whole RSS and Autoblogging: 1-I heard that google adsense doesn't allow for duplicate content. Isn't autoblogging the same thing as copying content that's already out there and putting it on your blog? If so, then that's the same thing as duplicate content. 2-Also I heard that duplicate content hurts your search engine ranking. In this case, autoblogging doesn't sound to smart to me. I would appreciate anyones help on these "autoblogging" questions. Ace |

While autoblogging might make you a few dollars short term, you are absolutely correct: "doesn't sound to smart to me". |

It is not smart, but both of those are not true. Autoblogging is a waste of time if you don't put up any unique content. However, there is nothing wrong with adding good content to your site that is the same as another site or directory as long as you give credit and don't change anything about it. Benjamin Ehinger |

Appreciate everyones replies so far, but I need to know if it is definitely against the google adsense terms, because I don't remember seeing it in there. Also, I would like to know about the google rankings and duplicate content. Could anyone go into a little further details on this topic? Thanks again guys. |

1 well groomed blog with unique contents is way better than 100s of autoblogs with scraped contents from various sources IMHO. Gama |

Take the time to build your own content or hire someone to write it for you. High quality is a must and you need to make sure each post is around 600 words or longer. Give the reader what they are search for and build the content around a keyword phrase properly if you want to get ranked higher on google. Autoblogging = FAIL so just avoid it all together unless you want to FAIL! Benjamin Ehinger | |

Thanks for this, but anyone else who wants to capitalize on this topic feel free. I would like to hear more opinions if they're out there. Oh and this leads to one more question: Is it against the google adsense to rip videos and re-use them to generate traffic? I know that it's Blakhat and against the google youtube terms, but lets say that a video that generates a lot of traffic brings people back to an autoblog blog and there's adsense on it. Is this going to get you banned from adsense? |

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've heard sooooo many mixed thoughts on Autoblogging and as you can see that they are always coming out with new products to encourage autoblogging, but it seems that a lot of people are implementing the content spinner to make each article or blog unique. If you say that your site must contain some unique content, then are you saying that it's still okay to implement the autoblogging or duplicate content, as long as it still has some unique content mixed in with it? | ||

Google AdSense Program Policies - AdSense Help You are simply asking for trouble if you use Adsense and do not understand the Policy Guidelines. Of course , being "guidlines" means they are interpretive and that is exactly why Google uses this method rather than a strict set of rules. Playing Barack room lawyer with the policies is pointless and the only one you can damage is you. That also goes for following "advice" form other. Fine to seek advice but do your due diligence. They are not the ones who will get their accounts banned - that's fully down to you. Many of Google's "policies and Guidelines" overlap. So issues with any of Google's polices (Adwords, YouTube, search etc) may impact on how your site is seen by Google. So not just you Adsense policies. Your site needs to comply with all relevant Google policies. For instance Adsense policies do not seem to mention "paid traffic" issues. but Adwords policy clearly addresses "sending Adwords traffic to Adsense pages" (not allowed). Check the Adsense Webmaster Policy Guidlines and you will find the following statement. "These quality guidelines cover the most common forms of deceptive or manipulative behavior, but Google may respond negatively to other misleading practices not listed here (e.g. tricking users by registering misspellings of well-known websites). It's not safe to assume that just because a specific deceptive technique isn't included on this page, Google approves of it. Webmasters who spend their energies upholding the spirit of the basic principles will provide a much better user experience and subsequently enjoy better ranking than those who spend their time looking for loopholes they can exploit." Which for me is also just great advice. Google Webmaster Policy clearly addresses duplicate content Duplicate content - Webmaster Tools Help Auto-blogging (in it's purest sense) is also mentioned here Little or no original content - Webmaster Tools Help This is part of the checks you need to do if your site is penalized. So clearly these are thing that your site will be penalizes for. Not directly an Adsense issue but if your site isn't ranking then you obviously your earnings will be affected Bottom line is if you even have to think about asking if it is allowed then it probably isn't. Google's TOS don't always help when you want to know "does it say I can't?". You may not find the exact wording banning you from doing what you want to do, but if it is remotely "dodgy" then is likely to eventually catch up with you. | |

Here's the flip side of the coin. autoblogging = very easy, no backlinking, no extra work, no social networking and no time at all EVER for anything after initially setting up your blogs. I made $92 off AdSense just yesterday. So far today, I'm at $64. I've been down from what I normally made the last few days. Last month I averaged $140 a day. I bought my kids a new playground set last month ($2200) and I bought a zero turning radius lawn mower this summer ($5500) all from adsense autoblogs. I plan to have my house paid off (27 years left on the loan) in the next 2 years with adsense autoblogs. I have 200 autoblogs and I don't spin a word and I don't have 1 letter of unique content. If that's failing.. I hope to keep failing the rest of my days. |

I used to take a stronger stand when reading posts by those that either don't know or most likely failed themselves with autoblogging... Now I just sit back and watch...it can be amusing sometimes. | |

and 200 auto blogs for $140/day is not much, might as well have 5 sites that generate that income instead, easier to keep track and maintain. Glad to hear all is well, but keep in mind auto blogging is NOT a long term solution, especially working with Google. For your kids sake, I hope auto blogging is not all you do. | |

While I do agree that $140/day for 200 sites isn't that much, when you consider that I never have to touch these or do any promotion (your wrong about your assessment of 5 sites being easier to maintain. I go weeks without looking at mine sometimes).. the number becomes far greater. Those are hours I get to spend playing with my kids every evening while guys with those 5 sites are spending those hours online working their sites (I believe my old Statistics class labeled those "opportunity costs"). Furthermore, autoblogging is as long term as anyone wants it to be. I watched a great wso the other day about a guy making a lot of money off of Craigslist because with every roadblock that Craigslist put up, he found a way around it while other marketers that were doing the same thing slowly fell away, giving up and saying it just wasn't worth it anymore. His system was pretty impressive and it was obvious that he just kept working to find solutions. This is what it takes to be successful online or off. And honestly, I love the fact that everyone preaches how it's dead (or will be) because like this guy with his Craigslist system, it's really helped me. I keep reaping the benefits of the quitters. I can find posts on this forum from 5 years ago that say the same thing. Strangely though, 5 years later... Google keeps sending me a lot of money every month. And.. in 2 years, I'll have my house paid off and after that, I now have an extra house payment every month, for the rest of my life. I'm not sure what your definition of "long term" is, but that sounds pretty long term to me. | |

| That's what you need to experiment with to be successful. I find the lesser known sites with lots of rss activity to be the best. I use about 10 different sources but really struck gold with a couple in particular.
