I started to notice this yesterday, probably because I was checking my adsense more often then I usually do. That I would be at lets just say for example purposes (making these numbers up): $10.32, and then when i refreshed it 30 min. later I was at $9.50. Has anyone noticed this before on their adsense accounts, and knows the reasoning? I'm just curious because I've seen it happen several times. |

Hmmmm... I've never heard of this happenning before. Maybe AdSense determined after after a little while that some of the clicks on your ads shouldn't count (ex: click fraud) It might not be from anything that you've done, but maybe some of your readers are untrustworthy in AdSense's eyes.

I'm perfectly fine if they are filtering things out, I've had my adsense account for 2 years, and the last thing I want is to be banned over something I didn't cause.

Usually invalid clicks are being removed. User just randomly clicking and then closing ASAP, or double clicking same ad.

I see this frequently. It goes both ways. Google just updates things a bit slow sometimes i guess

It happens all the time. There is a BIG difference between invalid clicks and click fraud, although many people equate it to be the same. It's not. Invalid clicks happen and happen often due to a number of factors beyond your control. Google credits money ASAP, but the don't credit clicks as fast. They will, after a little while, determine if the money was fully earned. "Fully earned" is up to their interpretation. The most I have had taken away was $15 in one fell swoop. Pissed me off. I am never fretting that I will lose my adsense when I see numbers going south. It just means people are clicking, and not all clicks count. The higher the clicks you get, the more money you make, the more this is likely to happen on an ongoing basis. That is, if you check your stats after every click. People might not see it happen, because they log in a couple of times a day and see, for example, 20 clicks $25. They never know how many of those clicks were valid. You might have earned $25 on only 15 of those clicks. There is never any reason to worry about invalid clicks. It happens. It happens to everybody, either daily or from time to time. Normally you will have to worry if your stats are completely out of whack. Like 100 clicks and 50 cents. That's a whole other story. I wish google had a better reporting system. Like real clicks vs. invalid clicks. Since I check very often, I know the other day I had 9 invalid clicks. It's been my experience that if you have image ads, there is a higher chance of getting an invalid click. The whole ad block is clickable. Paul |
