Hi, www.matchdeals.com is on auction at godaddy. It is 7 yrs old with no backlinks etc... Waybackmachine shows that is has always been parked. However, google has not indexed it. site:www.matchdeals.com shows zero results and info:www.matchdeals.com shows zero results. Does google de-index websites if they have no content? or have been parked for a long time? because I have seen many parked sites that show up on google. What could be the case here? Could it be possible that this domain may have been banned by google previously? Is there any way to know that? Also, what do you think should be a fair purchase price for this domain? Thanks! |

I would be very hesitant to buy a 7 year old domain that doesn't show up in Google at all. There is a possibility that Google deindexed/banned it. I don't know how you go about determining if that has happened, but I wouldn't want to risk buying a banned domain.

Google Banned Checker Tool - iWEBTOOL.com but it said Looking up Google for 'matchdeals.com' No results found, attempting a different look-up... The domain name has no PageRank value, it is LIKELY to be banned. The domain name has no records with Google. It is either new or MAY BE banned. | |

Why bother? Just register a new domain. It's $10 (cheaper with a coupon) and you won't have to worry about any potential issues involving the purchase, transfer, potential ban etc.

@sbucciarel: I used that tool too...but I don't think it is very reliable. What I want to know is if a site has absolutely zero content for a very long time, does google de-index it? @thadbong: buying a new domain is ok for niche sites or autoblogging, but I am looking for something specific and brandable ps. there is a lot of bidding going on for this domain...do other people know something I don't? I mean don't they find it suspicious that this site is not indexed? |

Being as they give matches away for free I'm not sure there's a hungry market for finding deals on them. But I've been wrong before. ~Bill |
