Re: Can Backlinks Decrease?

Definitely. As others have said, site owners can remove them, pages can die, etc.

That's why you can never get content and stop building backlinks. They will slowly die over time. So you've got to keep plugging away.

Just make sure you are always building new links because when your link count drops so does your rankings usually.

Yes, backlinks fluctuate all the time. Blog network backlinks tend do decrease a lot faster because they get pinged and indexed on the homepage, but eventually scrolls off the page. So you get an "index.php" link (temporarily), but not the actual post's url. Several blog networks the links originally appeared as ....index.php, but disappeared when I returned about a month later.

Yes, specially if domains expire. It's a normal thing anyway.

Yes, they can decrease for a variety of reasons. Don't worry about it, just get into a good routine of creating new backlinks on a regular basis and it shouldn't be a problem

The only thing for the 'poor we' need to do is to add links..or the number of links decreases and effects the ranks.

The links can only increase or decrease, it never keep the same.

Some times site owner remove your links, many times sites being shut down in such cases google will not show that link in your backlink anymore. And that's why only link building is called on going activity

Yes it is very common. Most backlinks are good long term, but many can and will disappear over time, which is why it is important to continue to build backlinks for your sites.

Re: Can Backlinks Decrease?

one of the example if we comment in dofollow blogs, once our commnt get approved the our links will appear in "recent comment", and if the other comment numbers increased over time, then someday your link will be disappeared from homepage which automatically will decrease your backlinks
