How is this happening

I have been doing the website thing for about two and a half years and work hard on my main site I have about 4 as of now. I know google is real goofy sometimes and always says there search results pulls up the best sites for your search. I also know when my site first came out it didn't show up for a month in search results at all then it went to like page 8 for one day then went to page 35 and slowly worked its way to around page 12. I always check the google search results to see which sites are in front of mine but the other week the site Italian Travel showed up on page 1 position 1. Now I normally look to see who is on the top 5 pages so I know who goes up and down but I can't figure out for the life of me why in the world this site is on page 1 position 1 for the search italian travel. The site only has a page rank of 2 and only shows 58 back links. Every other site on page 1 is at least page rank of 6 or more. I could understand if the site were in this position for a day or two but it has been there for over two weeks. What in the world could be going wrong with google for this site to be there. I think everyone on this forum would love for there site to be on page 1 position 1 for a couple weeks by mistake, I keep thinking how many clicks I would be getting if I were there. Does anyone have any idea how in the world is this site there.
