Hello, I have the following case: I need to target Californian Mexican audience, and I am wondering if the content should be written in Spanglish or proper Spanish language. My concerns are that if I go for proper Spanish it could probably be not too appealing to the audience, and they would probably not be searching for the same keywords as in the content. On the other hand, if I use Spanglish, Google might penalize the website for poor content quality. Does someone have experience with that? Please, let me know what you think the better solution would be. Thanks, Nyagoslav |

My advice would be to split test Chicano Spanish with English borrowings vs. standard Latin American Spanish using paid traffic, and see what people respond to better. You won't get penalized by Google for using Chicano Spanish (IMHO) as long as it is otherwise good content, especially if your are optimizing for keywords that are unique to Chicano Spanish and/or combine Spanish and English in a way unique to your target audience. |

I'm a native spanish speaker and I can tell you, some of the words/phrases they use might not even get picked up by google. I would be very careful when using such specific words on your site. They should be able to understand if you use regular latin american spanish, just try not to use too many fancy words, that might be a problem for them !!

Write your content in the language your target audience reads, not speaks. Just because they crossover in the language doesn't mean that they don't know regular Spanish or regular English. How many newspapers, magazines and books have you seen written in "Spanglish"? |

Use Spanish keywords for your website. If your target market is Spanish people's.. Last not the least thing is that your website off-page either you use spanish or english keywords in your title.I think you use mix keywords in your title. | |
