How desperate are people to get backlinks?

What is wrong with people? Is it really worth wasting time to look for loopholes like this?

Funny thing is, those links can be overwritten any minute by anyone.
The other site is Browse Blogs on Tubee
I recently found in my server logs a query string like "inurl: blogs/load/recent"

So people are looking for easy ways. Why not just concentrate on providing some value to surfers?

Is this the result of too many info products that teach the newbies, "you've got to build backlinks!" ??
