I've not been able to use it all day - and before that, auto-update was broken, so I wasn't able to use it then either.

I understand that issues like this happen, but I sure wish Noble Samurai was more responsive. MS isn't a cheap piece of software, and to have such limited support options is bothersome.

I've been using Market Samurai since 2009 and it's always been a bit spotty with respect to the program crashing when looking to pull SEOC data. There is no doubt that I still use Market Samurai during the day for SEO research, but as of lately I've been relying on the data from SEMRush and serpIQ. Speed and reliability is sometimes more important when looking to get a quick look at search volumes, competition, etc.

Other the other hand, Market Samurai is great for finding related KW's in a niche and drilling down based on the filters you set. It most certainly has its purpose.

I've been having ongoing issues and also working with support. As of this morning, they had me install the latest - 0.88.08 which solved one issue but rank tracker is still not working for me...they are definitely working in it though so I suspect it will be sorted soon.

The Rank Tracker has become somewhat of a joke recently - there's really no point in search beyond the top 100 because it either doesn't find the results or its wildly wrong.

Since the new 88.08 update its just a disaster all the way around. Sites that I know are ranking in certain positions don't show up as being ranked at all. Its just hangs for minutes at a time while trying to search Google for results.

Last time it was this crap they let us install it on an extra machine for free. Wonder what we'll get this time?

I hear Article Samurai is also having big support issues - DAYS to get things approved and sometimes no responses at all. On one forum I'm on everyone who signed up have quit their membership.

im still getting most of my KWs out of the top 200 however when I look at my rankings in Traffic Travis, Im still #1-5 for many of them..

I'm not getting any errors, but the software is apparently not updating ranks properly.

I still prefer MS, but this seems to be becoming more and more common. Hopefully they'll either clean up their act or a viable competitor will appear.

I use IBP to check ranks only. I find Market Samurai's ranking data unreliable.

well after the 3rd update in 3 days - it seems to be running better than it has in any of the past 3 days. here is what MS wrote to me. this would be a hassle, i asked they resolve this with a programming fix.

"It's not so much how many keywords you have in Rank Tracker in one project file, but how many you're trying to update at once. We normally recommend that, if you're going to update all your keywords at once, you keep to less than 40 keywords in one file. You can, however, successfully have more than this in one file if you're prepared to update only a handful at a time. To be honest, if you select 20 and update those, and then select the next 20, etc. etc., until you've updated all your keywords, it will probably take you about the same time as running the full 170 keywords in one go. It will also be a lot less prone to time out-errors, and incorrect data being returned. Can you please try updating only a portion of your list at a time, and see how it goes?"

It is getting a bit farcical now. Market Samurai has slowly deteriorated since I first bought it back during the 30DC in September 2009, despite many updates and total re-installs.

I guess it's a reflection of the lengths that the search engines will go to to not have their content scraped. It was an excellent tool and has well overdelivered on the $97 or so that I paid back then. However, I think it's either time for the guys at MS to have a complete revamp of the software or time for me to move on. I'm certainly looking around at alternatives.

You know we were big Market Samurai fans for the longest time. Lately, it never seems to work and support doesn't seem that helpful. It is still the most feature rich keyword research tool out there, but the slowness and down time is making us turn to other options.

I won't mention them here for fear of someone thinking we have an agenda, but we will be doing a major review on our site. Look for it soon.

Its how they keep up with Google changes. If there were no updates, you'd probably be complaining about that as well. I personally use MS and Brad Callen's Niche Finder. Both work.

Any updates on this? My Rank Tracker is generally slower than usual, and it doesn't' seem to be updating properly. For many of my sites, my keywords seem stuck in the same position every day (compared to usual volatility that comes with new sites).

Any thoughts?
