Default Product Creation and PPC Advice

Hey all,

I'm needing some help from experienced on a product of mine. I've become discouraged and I don't quite know where to go from here.

My product is currently a membership site where I give around 18 different lessons and weekly coaching calls to people who need help finding a job. I priced the product at $150 and sell it using paypal.

To drive traffic to my site I used google ppc which drove the traffic to a landing page where I gave out a free lesson from the program and a free resume or cover letter template. My conversion rate was at 10% for this offer.

I followed up with this traffic by giving away a free ebook and training lesson via email. After about a week from my original email I sent out an email promoting my product by providing a link to a sales video. By about this time opens from my emails was virtually none and i didn't receive any buys for my product.

Sooo... I'm at a crossroads. I've put a lot of time and effort into this and feel stuck. I don't quite know where to go from here. I'm debating completely restructuring my product into just coaching (but that requires my time) or breaking up the entire program into individual lessons. Where someone can buy my resume and cover letter seperately and then if they want to buy all the lessons they can buy the entire program.

However, I feel by breaking up the program it is going to drive down the price and I won't be able to keep up with the expense of the cost per click.

I hope all that made sense. The problem I am running into is that I don't know if moving forward is going to be worth the time and ROI with money. I don't know where to go from here. Any advice...? I'm kind of getting discouraged.

Thanks!

why don't you try to drive organic traffic to your site, lower your costs and the cost of the product ?

Can you give a link to your site ?

I can't post a link yet on the warriorforum because I don't have 15 posts yet :/ I will when I have the

I have thought about free traffic methods. They just take too much time and effort. PPC is a much quicker way to drive traffic and more fun (to me at least).

Also, if i spend time on free traffic methods. People may get to my site and not buy. I guess the flip is if I use PPC I waste money if no one buys, and if I use SEO (which may take a long time to get the same traffic from PPC) I'll lose time.

The other thing with SEO, is that it seems for some of the higher traffic keywords they are highly competitive. The long tail could be really low traffic. I also, dn't have any paid services to check the longtail phrases using services like market samurai. I use google keyword tool and the free version of traffic travis.

Have you considered a monthly subscription? $150 is a lot of money to people who have no job. $19/month might be doable.

Without seeing your offer, copy, etc it's tough to say. I'd also test sending them directly to the offer. Capturing leads is always important, but you need to make sure you have a converting offer for those leads at some point.

Anyway, lots of different things you could try.

Have to agree with the last post. First thing i though was, it's going to be difficult prizing $150 out of someone who probably doesn't have an income.

packerfan,

Here is a link to one of my landing pages from google ads. jobhuntersacademy.com/original-resume/

And here is a 2nd one i used doing A/B testing. This one out perfomred the previous:
jobhuntersacademy.com/resume-two/

I've thought about the fact that my niche is people who do not have jobs and thus have no money. I've considered completely scraping this idea and doing another. I've just put so much time and effort into it.

Basically, the past year I've learning how to create a website, product, etc. and this is my first product. I would do a lot of things differently with my next product

i.e. not make a product until I know people will actually buy it.
