When searching for my sites current position for a certain keyword, I set the filter to web, united states and time frame to the last 7 days. My problem is webmaster tools says that one keyword is on page 300 but when i did a manual check it was really on page 2, and the same thing has happened for a couple other keywords. I always clear cache, search history, and log out of my email so that I don't get personalized results when checking for these pages online. Does anyone know whats going on with this?

Yes, I have noticed a discrepancy as well. When it comes to most of these quantitative tools and/or software, accuracy is something to be desired. What I do is utilize the knowledge and data of multiple sources to get a general picture. |

Any online tool is not 100% accurate plus the data is dinamic, this is the main reason its not accurate.
