I build websites for my clients and help them rank for keywords. I'm not with a company or don't have one of my own. I'm filing my income as a sole proprietor. It is more of freelancing. I'm wondering how would I label this on my resume. I know exactly what to put in the task and description - what label do input it under since I'm freelancing and not working with an actual company? Thanks in advance for your inputs. |

I generally see people list stuff like that under a Projects or Skills or Experience section on Resumes, not actually as a job since you weren't technically employed by someone working for them on a consistent basis. However, most companies do recognize the term Freelance and know what you're talking about.

I was thinking the same thing since it is not a company. But the thing is it is a job for me. I wouldn't call it a skill since I'm making a good amount.

Use one of the titles that I listed and on the resume just list the different work you have done as projects. That way they know you have quite a bit of experience in it and know exactly what all you have done. Because if you just put the title as an SEO Specialist without more information, they may end up trying to get you to take a job that you don't necessarily know enough about or feel comfortable in.

Honestly, as long as you write down a fancy title and show them examples of projects you have done, then you will be perfectly okay |
