Hey guys, im very new to WP.. I installed the Heatmap theme. Like many others out there, i see that it comes with pre-installed features like Blogroll, Archives, Recent Posts, etc, on the sidebar. How can i remove these? I went into "Appearance>Widgets" from my WP dashboard, but those things are NOT enabled. I was hoping to just drag them out of the sidebar. From what im seeing, they seem to be hard-coded into theme itself. Is this correct? Do i have to touch some code to remove them from Heatmap and any other themes i see with the same features? |

Just drag another widget to that same bar. It will replace those!

As above. Or if you don't want anything appearing there at all you just need to go into the Appearance Editor and go into the Sidebar file and delete the relevant HTML sections. |

Thanks for the answers, guys. Although i admit, it seems counter-intuitive to embed widgets, as they're practically being forced on the user. I'll look into the editor, thanks again. |

As soon as you drag your own widgets into the sidebar this stuff should disappear anyway | |
