Hi everyone, I'm in the process of setting up some PPC campaigns in AdWords for CPA offers. I keep hitting a bunch of brick walls trying to get my ads approved. The part that's really driving me nuts is that Big G says my display URL does not match the destination URL. The destination, of course, is my affiliate link, but it does re-direct to the site I list as my display URL. From reading the AdWords guidelines, it APPEARS that this is allowed. The rejection emails tell me differently. I'd appreciate help with this issue. And if there's any resource short of a 4 year degree that will help me understand their whole system better, I'd really appreciate that. |

Hey, I've had real problems with PPC in the past - especially AdWords. In my opinion, their help guides are in no way helpful and don't describe any problems that most marketers will come across. In regards to your URL redirecting, I'd suggest you change this. It's probably best to link to a real website that has content and then use that webpage to link with your affiliate link. I hope that helps Thanks Eleanor |

Thanks Eleanor, Yeah, Google looks to be a rough place for newbies to start advertising. I know there's TONS of money to be made advertising there, but I'm reading posts by very successful affiliates saying even they prefer not to have to jump through all of the hoops. I AM determined to get a winning campaign off the ground one way or another, Google or no Google |

It is not a good idea to link directly to an affiliate offer. 1) You do not have control of the content and can not tweak the content to raise your quality score. 2) You are competing with every other affiliate and the site owner to get your ad shown. Google will only allow one ad per display url. You will have to outbid everyone else to get your ad shown. 3) If something about the site violates the TOC, you can get your account perminently banned. Register your own domain. Create a custom landing page. Try to get people on your mailing list. Create a review of the product or add value in some other way. Give visitors links to follow without having to register. |

Thank you John, that gives me a clearer idea of what I need to do to get somewhere in Googleland.

It is not easy to be a little advertiser on google anymore. I miss the good ol' days when you could advertise anything you wanted. |
