Hi Warriors, Very naive/newbie question. I've been investing a lot of time, money and effort into on- and off-site SEO over the past 90 days. Crunch time has come, and I'm kinda shocked. I've finally managed to break into the top 10 results for "linux dedicated server" and top 50 for "dedicated server" according to Google Webmaster Tools I've also checked the position manually on a fresh PC install in the US, and I indeed show up in #6/7 But the amounts of traffic seem ridiculously low... Does this seem normal to people here? Or is Google not showing me the whole picture somehow? Thanks |

Issac - After running your keyword - linux dedicated server through Googles' keyword tool I am showing that it only gets about 480 exact local (usa) monthly searches and 1300 global. Considering your position in the results you shouldn't be expecting too much traffic. It is said that the #1 position will only see somewhere between 40% - 50% of the over all traffic and the the percentage drops dramatically the further down the list. Hope this helps some. |

thanks for the answers... I'm actually trying to boost dedicated server, and linux dedicated server seems to have come as a by-product. I'm just trying to figure out if it will really be worth the effort. Thanks again, all |

dedicated server is definitely the one you should be pushing for - you won't see a whole lot of traffic from 'linux dedicated server' however if you can get it into the top three thats a pretty concise keyword so even smaller amounts of traffic should convert well.
