This is my site - Bank Jobs | Banking Jobs in India 2011 - 2012 Before two weeks, i redesigned my entire website from joomla to wordpress.. But now, my web page is not listed even in the 10th page. Previously my site was displayed at the first page of the Google for the 'bank jobs' keyword. My domain age is 1.5 years old. Someone please advice regarding the same. |

were the keywords for the home page, or other pages? if they were for other pages, you should have put a 301 redirect from the old urls to a new url. If you change the content, it may affect it a little, but you should still get credit for any old backlinks. but other than that I can't think of any reason to drop completely |

That is an interesting situation. I can't really advise on that as I never had that problem but I would love to see what others that did the same redesign you did will have to say.

If any of the internal pages/URLs have changed when you switched from Joomla to WP then your going to have to start over with all your backlinking. Doesn't matter how old your site is, without a 301 they are wasted backlinks, since all your doing now is sending all your backlinks pointing at internal pages to your 404 page. Then you have the issue of possible dead internal links... |

Why would you switch from joomla to wordpress? Usually it is the other way around unless the webmaster is just too simple to understand joomla. But yeah.... your entire linking structure changed. Time to start over. |

This is normal, the back links that toke you to your previous position is still there. All you need to do is optimize your blog for your chosen keywords, you can also create pages on your blog. Then focus on building back link to your site. You don't have to panic about this, its normal. |

Sure the old backlinks still exist, but If OP changed his URL structure when switching to WP, then those old backlinks (besides Index page) are worthless without a redirect. Something as simple as adding/deleting .html to the end of the url will screw up any existing backlinks + SERPs. | |

There's a few things that you need to figure out, and figure out quick. Did you change the URLs with the redesign? If YES, you need to figure out what the old URLs were and either update your new design to reflect those URLs OR create a 301 redirect from all the OLD URLs and point them to the NEW equivalent URL. Next you'll likely want to submit a sitemap to Google reflecting whatever changes you decided to go with. Finally, try and build some links to the new URL. This is a good example of why you shouldn't do a FULL redesign without contemplating whether its actually worth the potential risk. |
