Default An important tip when conducting keyword research

If you're looking to gain link juice and popularity through WSOs or Warriors For Hire, you will more than likely need to do some extensive keyword research.

When you're looking for keywords, don't submit the first and most obvious ones that come to mind.

Jot down the keywords that directly relate to your site. If you only have the chance to optimize 1 URL, make sure they're good!

Next direct yourself over to the Google Keyword Tool, this will allow you to see the competition you'll be facing with those keywords.

If you research the keywords that initially came into your head, I have no doubt that atleast 70% will be highly competitive.

Next, you'll want to branch off your initial ideas into sub-keywords. These are keywords that may not DIRECTLY link to your site, but hoold some relevncy to your content, and DIRECTLY relate to the keyword they're branching from.

This means that you can be confident in the fact you can generate popularity whilst keeping on task.

Again, head over to the Google Keyword Tool and submit the branched keywords. I recommend you look at 5x sub-keywords for every keyword.

This means that you'll have 25 sub-keywords if you have 5 main keywords.

Again, makre sure that all of the sub-keywords you're researching hold some, if not all relevancy to your site and it's content.

Jot down the results for each keyword. Don't just look at global monthly searches, look at local too. They can sometimes be overlooked and are actually quite valuable.

If you still find that they're too competitive, repeat the sub-keywords process. Make sure when repeating this that you are relating these sub-sub-keywords back to your content to some degree, and they are directly related to the sub-keyword.

It may be a short term process that takes a lot of time, but in the long run, you'll have a list of 125 keywords that are of great use to you, and you can start to optimize all of them.

Hope this has helped at least one of you

Jamie.
