Default Anyone familiar with slideshare.net

I was advised to use slideshare.net in a report I read. I have heard of it before but never used it. Anyone have any experience with it and wants to share their opinion?

From my quick read of the TOS, it seems that it is ok to publish an ad of sorts to something you want to promote. I saw a couple of articles promoting internet marketing stuff on there.

Don't know if there is much traffic for that site or not.

I am interested in anything you might want to share about that site.

Thanks cadmo, that was what I was looking for.

I would still like to hear from others if they have any feedback.

I wonder what kind of traffic numbers you can get from slideshare, anyone test this yet?

If the numbers are decent I have a couple of ideas that might work for my own sites.

Slideshare works and CAN be optimized to the first page for "lower" level keywords.

I've never had my stuff removed from them, but then again they aren't BLATANT spam/ads/etc.

My recommendation is write up a quick sales letter, provide some sort of value, and then have a call to action.

Optimize the slideshare page as you would any other site, and it will start ranking.

Personally I'm not interested in slideshare seo, I would rather rank my own pages, what about direct traffic (slideshare --> site)?

I'll look into this and get back to you...

Here's the deal though, obviously I'm much more interested in ranking my own sites and I DO.

Slideshare, and similar properties are valuable when you want to DOMINATE the first page. For me, I love dominating the keywords I go after by owning the first page with pages I "control". There are several keywords that I own 7/10 of the first page results.

That means I have a darn good chance that I'll get just about every click on the first page.
