Hello. I have a website that is getting about 100 hits a day from search engine traffic although most of my title posts are not "How to" or optimized for search engines. I didn't know anything about IM when I started. Now it has a 470,000 alexa ranking but most of my hits come from keywords off longtail searches that have nothing to do with my content, so the bounce rate is very high. If I go through my posts and change the really awesome titles to boring keyword specific title, like, "How to get a girlfriend," will this boost my already established site up the rankings? Will that happen right away? Thanks! |

Do not know if ot will boost you up the rankings, there are more factors than just your title in play, but I do know it will not happen "immediately" what ever you do. Google needs to spider your website again and re-index it with the new titles. This can happen within a couple of hours or a couple of weeks, depending on the spidering rate of your website. It will not have "immediate" effect no. |

If one of my pages is ranking high, I generally don't play around with "fixing" it. Adding new content is one great way to compel spiders to visit your site more often. Perhaps you can proactively create deep indexes that cause them to re-index bunches of pages (ie, your sitemap and other lists).... Hope that helps!

title is very important for the hit. I think maybe many readers read your articles just because of your amazing title.

It will take some time before your changes appear in search engines. After the crawler visits your site again and indexes it, the titles will be changed in search engines

I faced the same situation before. I simply just "spun" all the articles that I wanted to use again, some I wrote some extra or better content for and updated them. Then used new titles with my new keywords. My thought is, never change or remove something that is already indexed, especially if it's already bringing you traffic. Just add some more articles based on the content of the old ones. Just make sure to not duplicate them exactly, change them a bit.

I think if you want to improve the user's visiting experience.you should use the relevant keywords for your blog content. Thus, when you get the good SERP with your keywords, when people are interested in the title with the relevant content, then, they wiill have a long time reading.thus.you will get a low the bource rate.It means you will get more targeted traffic.

Changes in your website, be it changing your title or keywords, wouldn't affect your site's search engine ranking for specific keywords right away. It takes several days, a week, or months for your site to change its position in the search engine rankings. Just be patient about this. If you change your blog title to one which contain keywords with high traffic, then you might see your site increase its rankings and web traffic eventually considering that your site gets about 100 visitors / day at present. Just continue building backlinks to it..

I rewrite my old stuff to improve readers' experience and better SEO quite frequently, haven't seen much changes in SERP though but they're articles over a year old most of the time (back when I had zero knowledge on even the most basic SEO foundations). But I'm sure the visitors appreciate a better edited write-up.

Changes in ranking will not happen immediately. There are many factors considered for your pages to rank. Wait a while to see if your changes can boost your traffic. I want to follow you with the result too (and maybe get an idea or two) :-)

I read up on how to switch your blog domain without it affecting your traffic and implemented all the steps (301 re-direct, changing all offsite links etc) and then made the switch. My traffic instantly dropped by 30% and it took me 2 months to get back to my pre-June traffic levels. After that experience I never change anything unless absolutely necessary. Tom

100 visits a day is good mate well done! I would suggest just creating fresh new content. What platform are you using? Change the permalinks in your URL's to match your keywords that you want them to rank for. Also have the keyword in the title of the post if you can as well. Keep your articles at minimum of 400 words and just write it like you owuld anything else and keep it entertaining. If you can keep that up, your traffic will sky rocket. |
