Default SEO Questions

I noticed that the sites that advertise seo offer a monthly cost like 600 monthly for 6 months. Does this mean you have to constantly apply seo techniques I keep your site on the top of google? How hard would it be to get on page one of google on my own if im a noob at seo?

SEO is not a one time job, you need to constantly keep on adding links since your competitors are doing the same.

Its not hard to do SEO on your own, you need to know the best ways of link building through reading SEO Forums and Blogs on a regular basis.

It really depends on your chosen KWs. Some KWs are very easy to rank for, Some - extremely difficult. If it is a non-competitive niche, you can easily do it yourself. Just read on this forum, there is plenty of info available. If it is competitive niche - would be better to hire somebody. But in a competitive niche, most likely (unless your content is syndicated naturally) you will have to spent time/money on off-page SEO pretty much all the time, just to remain competitive.

Most seo services will give you a quote for page 1 then a monthly fee after that to keep you there.

Once your there its pretty easy to stay there as long as your not in the bottom 3. a few links per month would be enough to keep your position.

No I have not failed I have just found 10,000 ways that don't work.

It is not that hard to do it yourself, but you need to learn a lot before you can start seeing SEO success. It all starts with competition research, if you take the time to learn and find keywords that have traffic and are easy to rank then you do not need very heavy backlinking.

Even if you have the money to invest and pay for SEO services, it is wise to know what you paying for.

Yes you will need to keep doing seo to stay on top. Again it depends on the competition. Some keyword might take months for you to rank, some are not.
There are some tools to help you to see the competition level like market samurai.

If you search for seo service usually you will find quite an expensive price tag. I suggest you find it here in WF for more affordable seo service.

SEO is not a one-shot deal. Achieving the top spot in the search engines is not the end of the road. You need to continuously build backlinks to keep your rank because tendency is that your competitors are also building backlinks to catch up with you. Add the fact that search engines regularly update their algos so there's a huge change that SERPS will be shaken from time to time.

You can not say whether ranking keywords with SEO is easy or hard to do yourself without first knowing what keywords you are targeting and what the competition is like.

The actually art of SEO is a basic theory, which can get quite complex (depending on how much you want/need to learn.

Simple blog commenting for backlinks is really easy and straightforward and can even get you page one results for easy keywords.

But for $600 per month, there would be more going on here.

Probably a lot of content writing and private network links are involved.

SEO is a constant procedure, not a one time thing for the most part.

Generally the more you pay, the more detailed and effective the campaign. Sadly, SEO is a very misguided field and a lot of people believe things they tested years ago that simply don't work that well these days.

So with a lot of "unknowns" in SEO there is a huge variety of quality for price, it is often worth shopping around and reading testimonials to find out what the best SEO services really are.

There are possibly $50 services here that would beat the $600 service you saw in terms of ranking. There are just too many factors to measure.

Once you know the in's and out's of off page SEO and on page SEO it's gets pretty easy.

Depending on the keyword you want to rank for, SEO can be easy or hard. For example I have an Adsense site I set up a couple months ago. I used a link building service here on the WF and it ranked on Google almost immediately.

Till this day I haven't touched it since and it's still ranking high on Google.

Another example is with one of my ClickBank sites, it's in the weight-niche so it gets pretty competitive. I have to create new back links and add fresh content onto the site because if I don't my competition usually passes me.

Seo is on going if you want to maintain you rankings and to maintain your income.

If you're new to the game, I'd recommend reading some good ebooks on the topic. "Outsmarting Google" is a great ebook for beginners.

Yes it does mean that, you have to constantly keep working on your SEO, because in some cases you may reach #1 spot in Google and remain there for some time without any more work, but if your competition starts pushing their ranks with SEO campaigns of their own, and you did nothing because you felt comfortable with your position, you may end up losing your place in the search engines.

Now, to get on first page of Google there are several things you need do, first you must assess how much competition you have, because if your competitors have highly relevant domains and content plus thousands of backlinks pointing to their websites then it will be hard to rank #1 in Google, if not, things might be a little easier.

There are many ways to analyze your competition, but what is important is that you do, otherwise you will be shooting blind.

Once you know your competition's strength you need to draft a plan to beat them, which will include on-page SEO and off-page SEO. This last one involves working on your site's popularity through a link building process that must be carried out in a gradual fashion.

If you did your research right and you use the right techniques, you will be able to rank #1 in Google without any problem, it may take you more time or less time depending on the competition, but you definitely can do it with good and consistent SEO.

not the main work, but most of the work for SEO is offpage, which includes link building.. but if you ask the most important, then the onpage SEO is the answer!

That is correct, SEO requires regular maintenance. It can however have long lasting impact, without much effort, it mostly depends on how competitive the terms/niche you optimize for and what your competition is doing.
