How to know flow of visitors

hi warriors,

I own a website and i want to run ads on it but the problem is how do i know exact number of visitors that gone from my website to ad website.

Google analytics code placed on my site will show details of visitors coming to my site but won't show details of visitors gone from my site to other sites.

how to know that.

You need to add a tracking code on the banner/link/or the text where your ad is. This way you can see how many people click on it.

I think on Wordpress you can use Prettylink and WP Slimstats.

For HTML sites - I do not use these, but you can find tracking codes on on Google,may be..

A lot of download sites use a redirect for counting downloads, per click, kinda of sloppy but it does work.

Like already said If your running Wordpress you should be able to find a plugin (prettylink, etc...).

I did a quick WP plugin search found this (not tested), looks interesting.

if using redirects it is not possible to know who clicked your website,from which ip address click came may be it will raise issue of manually clicking ads by site owner

You can also try phpadsnew to track ad metrics.

Typically, it is the job of the advertiser to measure his or her own ad performance.

Google webmaster tools will track it all for you. It will even show you what pages make the most money for you.
