I had a site using one of the popular MFA templates. CTR wasn't anything to write home about and my bounce rate was ~82%. I decided to change things up and actually make it a little more visually appealing and easy to navigate. So I threw thesis on it, a nice header, some navigation on the right, a nav menu under the header... One ad at the beginning of the article, one at the end. Guess what... CTR is up about 60%, and my bounce rate is down to ~65% Who'd of thunk... |

It's amazing how often a small change will result in big results. The problem is that most of us (myself included) don't do enough testing. If you read what the experts suggest they often emphasizes the importance of testing. Good post, thanks. Phil Quote:

Good point about testing. I get so caught up in making new sites, etc. I forget to optimize the ones I already have. I'm sure I'm leaving a lot of money on the table by not doing more testing. I've got about 85 domains going up in the next 6 weeks. I think after that I'll focus on testing more! |
