change it back? I know a lot of people saw rankings shift on the 14th although that doesn't explain Google and Bing messing with you on the same day. |

Sorry to hear about the drop in rank. It can be frustrating to not know what caused the drop. I had a site drop from #1 to 70 or 80 a few months back. I have no idea why. Now it's back up to #4, but never regained #1. Phil |

$50/day with less than 500 visitors/day, just from ad revenue? Sounds like a red flag to me.

We need to really clarify what you are saying....your website was not ranking, the page was. It might sound like a subtle difference but it is huge. When you changed your content you changed everything. Suddenly you had different keywords, different headers, different titles, different density. The only thing which stayed the same was the URL and the incoming links. It should have changed in ranking since it was no longer the same page of content. It was re-evaluated by all of the search engines algorithms and ranked according to the content it discovered. What you are really saying is similar to having a Corvette in your driveway one day and a moped the next day and expecting to have just as many people interested in looking.... |

What you are describing is one reason many people like doing a blog with a sticky post. That first optimized piece of content sticks on the front page but new fresh content cycles in, too. It just comes in below the most optimized content. | |
