I have found a niche in which a keyword has around 4 million local and 16 million global searches per month. It has 0 ads for that keyword in google, yet it is telling me that my bid ($0.02) is below the first page bid. How does that make sense if there is not a single ad there?

With that kind of logic....0 ads/competing bidders should = $0.00

Do you have both adwords and google search set to the same location?
