Backlink watch is the tool for checking the backlinks of any particular site. You can also use majestic SEO tool for checking the backlinks.

i have use many tools ever in my carrier but majestic seo and word tracker are the bet in my opinion because they provide you exact anchor text back links record.

Opensite Explorer works best for me along with Mr. G himself.
Since most of us primarily focus on G, so checking their stats makes more sense. As that is what matters in the end.

Probably not as useful as some of the other products, but it does post a lot of results. Most however are within your own website.

same with IBP
Google WMT can only show it for your own sites.
Majestic seems accurate, but I cant view the full amount of data.
OpenSiteExplorer is too slow to update their DB
