Default Forum posting. Super thread

So I've been searching on-line for a program that can automatically post to several forums for me... I know most people look down on this type of thing so I am not really pursuing it - however for myself I post fishing reports with pictures and a link back to my charter fishing website on about 50 different fishing reports forums, which takes me over an hour to do manually even with cutting/pasting. It has helped tremendously and I'm going to continue to do it, though may employ hiring someone to do the job for me on a weekly basis. My real question is though I was reading a forum post on here and someone was worried about negative effects on their SEO campaign from using such software because google would 'detect' repetitive postings or whatever. So would the fact I am posting the same thing to multiple forums manually have a negative effect in the long run?? Should I change the text/anchor link text in each post? That would be much, much more time consuming and I would definitely likely employ someone to do that. Anyways, thoughts/info/comments appreciated!

Yes I understand that, and I do interact with any replies and such and am a good standing member in the forums I post too. However when posting my reports, there is not really much need on my end to alter my post for each forum except for if there were some negative impact due to the fact it is duplicate content. The forums themselves are happy to have my reports and love the fact they get fresh contact on a weekly basis from me.

Personally, I have found that avoiding anything automated in this regard is highly recommended. Auto-posts are a great way to get your IP address banned by the forum moderator. Usually, it is not a question of IF, but WHEN.

Automated posts stick out like a sore thumb and usually have a bulls-eye on them.

If you are serious about forum marketing, I would recommend picking five and contributing to one each day out of a five day work week.

Make sure the ones you pick have dofollow sig and profile links so that you will benefit from them.

Search for and contribute to threads that have a PR0 rating.Threads usually don't get higher than that, but the links count.

WarriorForum sig links are dofollow...and Allen is very gracious for allowing this.

i do agree with fellow warriors. avoid any automatic things if you want quality with backlinks.

post should be related with the forum topic otherwise moderater will remove the thread and you will loose your work. No one likes spam on his website.

As far as traffic and relevancy concerns then forum posting is the best process to implement but in Link building process it is sometime not helpful. I mean initially we cannot put links but, it gives you very positive effects in SEO as it is one of the best process.

Hi syxx,

I wouldn't worry about a penalty, there is no duplicate content penalty, that is a myth and confirmed multiple times by Google.

Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: Demystifying the "duplicate content penalty"

That's not to say that there isn't a benefit to creating unique content for each of your posts. Google employs a duplicate content filter that limits how many duplicates will appear on the SERP for a given keyword query. By creating unique posts on each forum you increase the odds of having more than one of your posts appear in a single search query.

Now, on to the automation question, this really gets into the policies and Terms of Service of each of the forums where you are posting. They all must devote much of their time and resources to fighting spam. And due to the relentless onslaught of spam attacks on the typical forum they are likely to have strict policies, which might include barring automated posts. You should check the policies of each forum to see what is permitted.

Its true that forum posting helps getting backlinks. But there are forum sites limits the post, sometimes it will just accept not more than 10, but if you're a beginner, you should limit your post 3 to 5 topics then you can post other topics the next day.

Syxx I would reccomend that you do forum posting on your own or hire an SEO expert to forum post for you . There is not a piece of SEO software that is reliable enough to do quality posting for you and non quality posts in forums will get your links and accounts deleted and banned from the forums in certain locations.

I'm one of those that would say differently.

If you can set aside a bit of time each day to become an active member in a handful of niche related forums, it can be very beneficial. The traffic may not be enormous, but it is VERY targeted. Great if you're linking to a squeeze page.

Just make sure that the forums you're posting at have a lot of traffic. Otherwise it's not usually worth the effort.

You can also set up Google Alerts to send you an email when a new discussion related to your keywords / niche is created. You can find a ton of great forums and posts this way.

I think forum posting is helpful, as long as your posts aren't spammy and you are posting in a topic relative to your niche. The key is to not JUST do forum posting. If all your backlinks are from forum posts it could hurt rather than help. You need a wide backlinking portfolio.

One of my Micro Niche sites that does about 1600 visitors a month is ranked #1 in google and I attribute a lot of the sites ranking to a few forum posts with a signature link on extremely relevant forums. When I do a backlink check at yahoo or google, those forum posts show up.

If you are thinking that you can bring your site on top of SERP using forum posting links, you might be at the wrong side of the track.

I personally use forums to gather information and learn new things.

Forum posting gets me the most quality traffic to my niche sites the fastest as an immediate benefit, and then over the long run, it provides me with the backlinks all from my sites being in the signatures.

So immediate targetted traffic and long term quality backlinks that get picked up by google all the time.

High volume forum backlinks and high volume article site backlinks for my niches show up on page one of Google all the time and that is after I got all the immediate traffic from the sites.

Plus, I like posting on forums anyway, so why not do it and help others and myself at the same time.

:-)

Hi Bhupendra,

Since you asked the question, why not tell us why you posted this question?

You might as well have asked "what is the meaning of life?"

I'm sorry, but your post looks just like an automated spambot post. If you are a real person, why not tell us the context of you question and how it relates to your particular situation? It would also be useful if you tell us what you did to answer this question on your own, and what aspect of the question has got you stumped?

Forum posting is great if you are targeting the right people in the same niche as what you are promoting. But if you consider this as part of your link building strategy to rank your site, you might not get as much benefit at all as some believe Google only give very little benefit because you are posting from the same IP address. I never tested this myself so this is just an assumption from link builders that I know.

What were you expecting? The days of giant SEO benefits from forum posts are long gone.

Today you will get a link that isn't worth as much as you might think it should be, & a warm fuzzy feeling from helping others.

Personally, I like the interaction & I like seeing what other people are thinking. I also have received a bit of business from people liking my thought process and contacting my company for help with their website.

As all say that forum posting is good method. But for getting the result from forum posting one needs to provide the unique content in the post and to be continuous in the discussion of the topic and not leave comment once. So then only one can get the benefit of forum and yes it takes more time to provide the result.

Sometimes it will help you to promote your content . In a niche forum to yours , you can expect some members may ask for some information that you have in your site. You can then get the chance to mention the url . Your content will be in-front of other members who may help to spread the other further. if they link back again in other forums, blogs or blog comment to help others

If the forum is relevant you get the benefit of relevant backlinks (I assumed you are talking about forums that allow you to have an anchored do-follow backlink in your signature.) BTW, once in a while a post in forum may get popular and get some good PR (has happened to me before) and you see your website gets free PR. Then again since some of the PR juice of main domain goes to sub-domains, always wiser to pick high PR and popular forums.

Most people have agree in something, I am one more, traffic, targeted traffic to your website is the main and most important benefit, backlinks are important, yes and I welcome them, but without the chance to get traffic Iwouldnt build a backlink at all..

A previous poster commented something important too... find the threads having good traffics, make a contribution to the discussion and you will get your reward, do not jump or hijack a thread just to make your precence noticed.. leave something of value behind it is in your own benefit
