I have searched these forums and have not located an answer but please forgive me if this topic has been covered. Adsense TOS says "Ads are also not permitted on pages which sell or promote the sales of beer, hard alcohol, or liqueurs." I have a site which talks about alcohol related accessories and alcoholic recipes. I do not recommend any specific brand of alcohol mostly just recipes and products like glasses and bar tools. I have searched similar sites and see adsense on sites which talk about alcohol. So my thought it as long as I do not link to sites promoting the sale or promote the sale of alcohol myself I should be fine? Is saying a particular recipe is excellent and that you should try it promoting the sale of alcohol? If anyone has specific wisdom in this field I would appreciate your input. Thanks. |

The best way is: Go to Google Adsense forum, tell them about your website and you will get the answer you want.

If your site is related to alcohol in any way you are out of luck as adsense prohibits such sites from running their ads.

About.com has recipes for Alcoholic drinks and tips on how to make the best ones and they run Adsense. Does anyone think they are playing with fire by doing so? I think not. There has to be some guidelines out there beyond the vague and all encompassing TOS. Quote:

About.com is a premium publisher and have different rules. Also About.com has a shedload of pages and unless someone reports the page or they get a manual review of the page most likely nothing will happen. I have a news site where I wrote about a Chinese woman who was stripping on the internet to help with earthquake relief...I showed no pictures and the raciest the article got was when I wrote nude...google gave me 3 days to remove adsense from that page or they would disable adsense for the entire site. There is no grey area here...alcohol, pornography ( including the words nude and naked) as well as firearms are against their ToS. You may get away with it for a while maybe even years but if they see it they will respond. Quote:
