The exact phrase domain name I want to register is taken. I'd like to go with a hyphen and a number at the end like "domainname-101" I've searched up hyphen and see its not an issue but what about numbers? Also "domainname101" is taken but parked on some static placeholder content. (Page 1 slot 2 on google) Will that have any unforseen affect I should know about? As always thank you very much. |

I have a three month old domain with numbers that was doing very well until a BAD case of the Google dance hit it 5 days ago. Still off the radar, but nothing to do with the numbers I don't think.

I think numbers are considered same as characters. There are keywords that include numbers in them right? Like "lose pimples in 2 weeks" etc. So I think you can just consider them like you would do characters.

I don't think there is any harm in having number in your domain name. Some sites are doin pretty well with such domain names. One example is suite101 (dot) com (although it was hit by Panda, after which its ranking fell down) So, go ahead! |

I would like to get some advise on a few domains that I have. In no way am I trying to advertise these domains as they have no built sites attached and they are parked at the moment. I would just like to get some insight into how valuable these domains may be since they do have a numebr in them. iphone4discount.com iphone5discounts.com ipad3promo.com ipad3promos.com iphone5cheats.com iphone5contests.com Please tell me if any of these have potential in being valuable domains. Thanks! |

Why would you put a number in the domain name? Example Discount cars.com is taken why buy 1discountcars.com why not use your imagination 1. google I think does know that domains with 1 in the front are a bit spammy and I have read that they are going after these. Might also apply to other number combinations why not just use your imagination if you are that intent on putting the kws in the domain (I assume you want the EMD but its taken?) just add a word that makes sense discountCarReviews.com something like that kws in the domain dont mean much to Google although some claim this is not true and they do |

it would be safe until and unless you aren't using adsense on it.

I have a domain similar to the example given by outwest (1discountcars.com). It's actually ranking pretty well #2 for it's keyword. But I do agree that they tend to look spammy and I doubt I'll ever register another domain using the same structure. |
