Arrow CTR Dismal!!!

I could be making decent money with the stats I have...

But I am not.

My CTR is dismal compared to what I understand is "normal"/"good".

It is discouraging.

I am trying to change locations of ads, colors, layout. I am trying to make one or a just a couple changes at a time so as not to change things too drastically.

Last month was my best month I've had, and there is quite a bit left more of this month.

I've been at this for like 5 years and have not had anywhere near the success I have been hoping for.

I wonder if I hold the record of being at this for longest and still not succeeding to a life changing level.

Got any advice/encouragement? Thanks for any provided.

Why don't you purchase a Wordpress theme that's built for getting a high click through rate? I've heard the Clickbump theme is one of the best. I'm sure you can look around just search for best adsense theme.

I've read warriors getting 5% and above click through rate with that theme. You should give it a try.

I am sorry to hear about your low CTRs. I have some sites that get great CTRs and others that just blow. So I feel your pain.

My Two Cents (Coming from an IM newbie):
If your ad placement on your problem sites is anything like the sites in your signature, your low CTR may, in part, be due to poor ad placement. I would be a little more aggressive with ad placement. I would also move your sidebar from right to left. The ads will get more attention this way.

Have you considered using a 160X600 Sky Scrapper ad at the very top of the sidebar (or stack two 250X300 ads) and possibly a 728X90 Leader Board? I also like to include a 250X300 ad in the upper right hand corner of posts (on the actual post page) if possible. I have had the most success with these ad placements.

Take a look at this page for more info (not my page-did a quick Google search to find it):
Doubled My AdSense CTR!

In particular, take a look at the ad schematics towards the middle of the page.

Otherwise, I would say your color selection for the ads blend well with your site and the ads are relevant. So with better ad placement and assuming good traffic you should be getting decent clicks.

Good luck!

Are you referring to Adsense CTRs? Put an Adsense block before each of your posts. That would contribute a lot on your CTR. If you look at the highest CTR themes, that's what they have in common.
